8Lena remained frozen in place as tears slid from her eyes and disappeared into the surrounding seawater. Her fingers grazed the spot where Javelin had been, her nails scraping against the boulder. There was nothing left of him, not even a single strand of blonde hair. He was dead. Her brother . . . her brother was dead. How would she tell her father what had happened? What she’d done?
