"Fish out of the water," she says the words with the utmost confidence and calmness. Almost as if she can see behind the blindfold. "Abe's not in the water."

Her eyes are tightly closed. How did she know? I'm impressed. 

Keith looks at me like he knows something I don't. He swims over to Eli. "You can open your eyes now."

She does. Almost instantly we are staring at each other. But it only lasts a few seconds before she looks away. 

Sometimes when I look into your eyes.

I wonder why. "I guess that means I'm it then."

Eli splashes water in my direction. "That's for sneaking out the pool."

I grin and curl my body into a fetal position before diving into the pool. Water sprays everywhere. The water moves around my limbs in whirls, creating buoyancy and perception of li
