Mrs Draven sat on another sofa, facing Ava, as she browsed through a book.
Ava watched her go through the thick, leather-bound book. There was the insignia of a claw on the cover and the pages inside were yellowed and old and had markings that seemed to have been made by dip pen and ink and not modern printing.
Mrs Draven turned to Ava, noticing her gaze. "This is a book about our history. The Silver Moon pack is a very old and long established pack, Ava. Consider yourself lucky to be a part of us."
Ava smiled. "I am honored."
"Which pack are you from?" Mrs Draven asked.
"The Waning Moon pack," Ava said, maintaining the earlier lie she'd told Adrian. "Illinois."
"Oh," Mrs Draven said. "I can see why Adrian took so long finding you. You were so far away….How old are you?
