"Adrian," Ava said, a small gasp leaving her lips as she turned.
His gaze was on Iris. It was obvious he knew what was happening. Ava thought then that only one other person knew what she was doing in the woods with Iris. But Vera would never rat her out.
"Leave now," Adrian told Iris. "Outsiders are not allowed on our grounds."
"Adrian-" Ava stepped towards Iris. Adrian pulled her back and left her hand as soon as he did so.
Iris gave Ava a wry smile- one that showed she totally understood Adrian's reaction. She turned to go. "We'll talk soon, Ava. Practice."
"I don't want to see you in the house either," Adrian said. "It's getting dark and it's a long way from the city. Use your time well."
