“Get up.” Cassius said.
The demon everyone was talking about was sitting on the ground and staring at the burned city before her with eyes that seemed to see nothing. Cassius wasn’t sure she was paying any attention at all to anything around her. This was the demon who was gaining so much notoriety. She seemed lost inside her own head and it didn’t look like she was enjoying what she was seeing. The expression almost made Cassius feel merciful. The sight of the destroyed city killed that.
“I didn’t come here to watch you wallow in self pity.” Cassius said.
