Chapter 5

Bitbit ang bulaklak ay nag lakad siya patungo sa museleo, dahan dahan niyang tinulak ang gate at pumasok sa loob. Iniayos niya ang bulaklak na bitbit at nag sindi ng kandila, ipinikit niya ang mata at umusal ng mahinang dasal. Her tears started flowing down her eyes, she couldn't save her. She couldn't do anything for her, everyone admires her for being smart and independent but she couldn't save one thing for once.

"Rica..." she whispered wiping her tears away.

Para siyang batang umiiyak at nag pupunas ng luha habang nakatingin sa larawan ng dalaga. All she could think of is how wonderful it is to be around her, Rica is like a sister to her. And when she dies her soul died with her. Hindi niya alam kung ilang oras na ang lumipas she sat there alone, she couldn't think of anything at all. Bumalik lang siya sa reyalidad ng tumunog ang cellphone niya. She glance on it and saw her mother calling kinuha niya ang phone at sinagot ang tawag nito.

"Late na. Where are you?"

Emerald sighed. Nakalimutan na niyang mag text sa pamilya "Be there in 20."

Tumayo siya at kinuha ang mga gamit, she glance one last time before leaving. Rica moght be gone but her anger will never be Nang makaalis si Emerald ay saka lamang lumapit si Nexon sa puntod ng Ex-Fiancee niya.

Napatingin si Nexon sa fresh na bulaklak sa sahig then his eyes darted to one of the picture of Emerald and Rica. He sighed, he is not a perfect fiance but he loves Rica more than his life.

"Rica..." he whispered and smiled bitterly. "Did you really send Emerald to break me?"

It was just a joke. He knew Rica he might have made mistakes to her but she'll never stoop that low. He tapped her picture lightly before calling it a night, malalim na ang gabi, malamig ang simoy nang hangin. It's been what? 3 years but the pain is still buried deep down his heart.

"Where have you been?" Wika ng kanyang ama ng siya ay makapasok sa bahay. "Don't you know how late it is? Ni hindi ka man lang mag text."

"I'm sorry hindi ko napansin ang oras." Wika niya at naupo sa sofa. Hinilot niya ang medyo kumikirot na ulo at pinikit ang mga mata.

"Tumawag si Amethyst hindi daw siya makakauwi ngayon."

"Hmmm."

"What happened to you seriously?"

"What do you mean?" Naiiritang wika niya.

"You know what I mean." Mariing wika ni Eros. "Hindi ka babalik dito ng walang dahilan Em's."

Emerald chuckled in disbelief. "I know that i'm not your favourite huwag mo naman ipahalata."

"You know that's not true Emerald." Wika ni Eros

He never imagined na ganito ang sasabihin ng anak. Mapaklang tumawa si Emerald at malalim na bumuntong hininga tumayo siya at tumitig sa ama.

"Don't kid yourself Dad. You didn't even know what I went through, you never ask how am I." Wika niya, her heart sunk all of her pent up emotions is slowly rising to the pit of her stomach. Kinuha niya ang bag at nag lakad palapit sa pinto but when she opened the door it was Silver looking at her.

"Em's ... what—?"

Hindi na niya pinatapos ang kapatid she run past him and didn't look back. She needs to go and leave this place for now, she run and run until she's out of breath eyes blurred with tears as she tap her tigtening chest. Dumidilim ang kanyang paningin she couldn't see or hear anything ang tanging huling narinig niya ang ang pag tawag sa kanyang pangalan hanggang sa mawalan siya ng malay. When she woke up a light coming from the window hit her eyes she adjusted her eyes trying to remember what happened last night her body was exhausted para siyang binugbog.

"Arghh" she groaned holding her pounding head. Hindi naman siya uminom pero tila daig niya pa ang na hangover.

Nang ma adjust ang sarili ay dahan dahan niyang inilibot ang paningin she gasped and jumped out of the bed when she realize she was in unfamilliar room. Where the hell is she? Panic started to build up on her when suddenly a man walk out from the door towel wrapped around his waist dripping wet while drying his hair. Agad na nanlaki ang mata niya ng marealize niya kung sino ang lalaki sa harap.

"What are you doing here!?"

Nexon stop what he was doing. His eyes darted to hers and smirked hindi siya nito pinansin at muling tinuloy ang pag pupunas ng buhok. Her eyes won't leave his body, he looks really hot!

"You can take a picture if you want." Nexon said teasing her.

"I'm asking you a question! What are you doing here!?" Pag uulit niya.

"Why are you questioning my presence in my own home?" Chill na wila nito.

"What!?"

Nexon chuckled. "Yeah! and my polo looks good on you by the way."

Agad na nanlaki ang kanyang mata at napatingin sa suot niya she didn't realize that she wasn't wearing her clothes. At ano? Nasa bahay siya ni Nexon Cohen!?

"A-anong ginagawa ko dito? D-did you—"

"Stop right there I didn't touch you or change your clothes either I had some help from a friend and for the record she's a girl."

Emerald sighed. Pinilit niyang alalahanin ang nangyari, then it hit her she was arguing with her father run pit of the house and collapsed on the floor.

"You should have get youself check." Wika ni Nexon. "You look pale and hindi normal na bigla ka na lang mag co-collapsed sa kalsada."

Emerald rolled her eyes. "Tatay ba kita?"

"Nope just a concerned citizen and a professor." Wika ni Nexon ngayon lang talaga siya naka encounter ng taong tinulungan mo na nga e, galit pa talaga.

"Nasaan ang damit ko? At puwede ba mag damit kana nga!" Emerald said ramdam niya ang pamumula ng mukha who wouldn't right?

Malakas na tumawa si Nexon na tila ng iinis pa talaga habang nakatingin sa kanya. Sumandal ito sa pader na tila modelo na nag posing sa harap niya.

"Kanina lang titig na titig ka sa katawan ko ngayon gusto mo na akong pag damitin?"

Halos gustihin na ni Emerald ang lubog sa lupa dahil ramdam niya ang titig mg binata sa kanya. She couldn't breath tila sobrang init ng paligid niya ngunit naka full blast naman ang aircon sa silid.

"S-stop teasing me! Nasaan na ang gamit ko?"

Nexon chuckled. "Stay here I'll get it for you."

Nang makalabas si Nexon sa pinto ay doon lang siya nag karoon ng pag kakataon na huminga mg maluwag dali dali niyang pinunasan ang pawis sa noo. Hindi naman nag tagal ang binata at bumalik ito bitbit ang gamit niya thank God he was fully cloth nilapag nito ang bitbit sa kama at nameywang sa harap niya.

"Get dress. Let's get you home"

Nexon then walked towards the door and put his hand on the knob and was about to push it open when Emerald spoke again.

"Is this just a coincidence na ikaw ang nakakita sa'kin?"

Nexon sighed. "Don't you think that thanking someone who saved your life and didn't leave you behind that freezing floor is much more important than questioning me?"

"I-I mean—"

Nexon cut her off in sarcasm. "You're welcome. I was near you village I went to a friends house and saw you running and crying, I was about to leave when you collapsed on the floor and I— I couldn't leave you behind." He sighed. "Get dress you can use the bathroom may toothbrush kit doon. I still have class I can't be late."

It was the first time ahe felt ashamed when she wasn't supposed to feel it that way but something change. Napasabunot siya sa sariling buhok no she shouldn't feel it that way hindi na niya muna iisipin ang mga bagay bagay she just wants to be out here as quickly as possible. Habang nasa byahe ay tahimik lang siyang nakamasid sa daan Nexon is too focused on the road and silence is killing her, she cleared her throat and wants to say something but not a single word is coming out from her mouth. Tila napansin yata ito ng binata kaya't una na itong nag salita.

"If you wanna say something say it."

Emerald rolled her eyes. Sasabihin naman niya pero nag co-compose pa kasi siya sa utak niya at hindi pa siya ready!

"Thank you. " she said "for not leaving me behind."

"That's it?" Wika ni Nexon.

Emerald frown. "Bakit may gusto kapa?"

Nexon fixed his tie and park the car on the side of the road. Tinanggal nito ang seatbelt at mabilis na nilapit ang katawan sa kanya she gasped as she can already smell that minty flavour of his toothpaste sobrang lapit nito na halos di na siya makahinga then she heard a click.

"I'll think about my options..." he whispered "nandito na tayo I'll see you around Ms. Montefalco"

Hindi napansin ni Emerald na nasa tapat na sila ng village nila. She quickly pushed him away and immediately jump off the car malakas niyag sinara ang pinto nito at nag mamadaling tumakbo papasok. Nexon chuckled while looking at Emerald.

"We're just getting started.."
