Chapter 3

Emeralds eyes were sore and she felt like the heat was coming from the inside. Dahan dahan siyang tumayo ngunit agad din bumalik sa higaan dahil parang binibiyak ang ulo niya sa sakit, she groan in pain and reach for her phone. She was annoyed the moment she woke up but was now more annoyed when she realized that her phone won't turn on, it was soaked last night as she childishly played and soaked herself in the rain. Muli niyang pinikit ang mata and she didn't realize that she fell asleep again. It was night time when she woke up again, napatingin siya sa wall clock na naka sabit sa ding ding at napabalikwas ng bangon and that action almost made her stumble on the ground.

"s**t!" she hissed, tinungo niya ang cr upang maligo it was already 8 o'clock she slipped all of her appointments today and that pissed her off.

matapos maligo ay sinuot niya ang usual niyang pambahay na oversized shirt at maiksing short bago bumaba. They were already having dinner by that time, feeling sick she doesn't have the appetite to eat or drink she just wants to move around and not to slack off.

"Ems are you okay? mag hapon kang tulog anak."

Her worried mother noticed her and went to her side checking her out. Hinaplos nito ang kanyang buhok na parang bata that made her relax she misses this type of bond.

"I'm okay, I have a fever but I will survive."

Agad naman kinapa ni Keana ang kanyang noo, she is indeed sick and having an over acting mothers she just laughed when Keana began panicking. Maybe because she's been away for so long she happily watches her mother jump off the sofa and run in the kitchen pag balik nito ay may dala na itong gamot at tubig.

"You should rest, I don't wanna see you lurking around or even going out. Ems anak alam kong da sobrang talino mo gusto mo na lang mag aral, but believe me there are still more things that you can explore."

Ems nodded.

"it's fine Mom I'm enjoying everything besides thri-sem na 'to so once I'm done I promise I will explore the world. "

Keana sighs and she strokes her hair.

"Emerald, I know what you're doing."

Agad na tumindig ang balahibo sa kanyang batok sa sinabi ng ina her voice is warmth yet serious.

"W-what do you mean Mom?"

"I just hope you won't get burned on the fire you've created yourself anak. It was really hard and it's not worthy,"

Tumango lang si Emerald at hindi na muling kumibo Keana felt the tensions so she decided to let it go and leave her daughter alone. She just really hopes that Emerald will not be engulfed by the fire she created.

NEXON cleared his throat while looking at the empty table at the back of the room. He is not focused and he felt so irritated at the thought of him looking for the woman that he dispised the most. He blink numerable times when he was snapped by one of his students asking questions after that he went back thinking about the damn girl who pestered him a lot. Natapos ang araw na walang Emerald Montefalco na dumating it was supposed to be a peaceful day for him but he keeps on looking for her presence and that really irritates him.

"Mr. Cohen?"

A man's voice stopped him midway on walking back to his office. Nilingon niya ang lalaki and it was the newly appointed teacher on their department. And the man who tries to bring Emerald home— 'What the f**k!?'

"I'm Rios Justin Cruz, just started yesterday here it was an honor to finally meet you."

Nexon nods his head, inabot naman niya ang kamay nito he doesnt wanna be rude but he is really annoyed by this mans appearance.

"There are a lot of institutions why here?"

Rios cleared his throat didn't know how to answer that question. Malalim siyang bumuntong hininga at nilagay ang kamay sa kanyang bulsa na tila nag iisip ng sagot.

"Who wouldn't wanna be here this is one of the great universities and of course a high paying university."

Nexon didn't even blink he looks into his eyes not breaking his eye contact to him.

"You don't look like you need money," He bluntly said. "It's nice yo meet you Mr. Cruz."

Rios stood there in silence watching Nexon walks away he sighed and shook his head bago umalis sa kinatatayuan thats odd parang mainit ang dugo nito sa kanya.

EMERALD stood in front of the mirror looking at her crazy outfit cause she is getting ready to be wild tonight, no further reason she just wants to enjoy the night kahit na nilalagnat lang siya she texted Mariah asking her to accompany her tonight she wants to drink and be drunk she took her purse and leave her home. Sa tapat na sila ng club nag kita ni Mariah she doesn't have yet her car so she just took a cab from there.

"Mama Mia!"

Mariah giggled while looking at her from head to toe, she just rolled her eyes but eventually smiled.

"You look hot!"

"I know," She proudly said and went inside with her.

Ang maingay na bar na agad ang bumungad sa kanila, it was owned by one of her cousin so basically dito talaga siya pupunta to support his business and cause this is the safest club for her.

"It was really loud!" Sigaw ni Mariah while dancing on the beep.

agad naman silang nabigyan ng table, she ordered a scotch while Mariah ordered a ladies drink. Mataas ang alcohol tolerance niya kaya't wala lang sa kanya ang nga hard drinks na iniinom.

"You know what Ems! Let's dance,"

napailing na lang siya ng haltakin siya ni Mariah sa dance floor she is clearly tipsy habang siya ay nag simula na din sumayaw kasabay ang musika she is sick but she's having fun she couldn't remember the last time that she went out to party.

"This is nice!"

They were dancing together laughing and singing on the rhythm at the same time, halos maubos na ang hininga niya kakatalon ngunit wala siyang pakialam all she could think of is she having fun not until someone stopped it.

"having fun?"

agad na uminit ang ulo niya ng maramdaman niya ang pag haplod ng binata da kanyang beywang she immediately tap his hand and grab Mariah's hand and was about to walk away when the man stopped her. May pag nanasa ang tingin nito he is looking through her soul eyeing her from head to toe.

"s**t you're hot!"

"Let me go." she calmly said throwing a dagger look on him.

Ngunit imbis na bitawan ay hinaltak siya nito ng malakas dahilan upang mauntog siya sa dibdib nito sabay dakma sa kanyang pang upo. Her cheeks redden nag dilim ang paningin niya sa lalaki and was about to put him down when someone do her a favor.

"Sir Cohen."

Madilim ang mga mata ni Nexon na nakatingin sa lalaking napaupo sa sahig hawak ang panga niyo matapos niyang suntukin.

"She said to let go!" mariing wika nito. "How dare you touch her?"

The man was about to stood up however Nexon didn't let him as he kick his chest, kita ang pag igting ng panga nito sa galit habang nakatingin sa lalaki. Emerald is in shock, wala ni isang salita ang lumabas sa bibig niya habang nakatingin kay Nexon.

"Lets go."

Hinaltak siya ni Nexon palayo sa dance floor palabas sa club, she couldn't utter a word and still in a state of shock naputol lang iyon ng mag salita ang binata.

"So you're here having fun yet you didn't come to class?"

"What the— bitawan mo nga ako!"

Nexon didn't listen instead he push her on the hood of his car pinakatitigan nito ang kanyang mata. Hus eyes were showing emotions she can't name, her heart beats erratically fast she wants to day something but her lips wouldn't move. His orbs were looking intimately in her eyes, tila ina-absorb ng binata ang lakas niya gamit lamang ang pag titig niyo.

"You nuisance."

he took off his jacket and place it on her shoulder it looks like an over sized dress on her. Nexon sigh, mariin nitong pinikit ang mga mata at umiwas ng tingin.

"Let's take you home."
