*Next Day*
There was a small knock at our door before Amara walked into the office.
“Yes?” I asked as I looked up. “It’s the north end of the border. Damien and Camila were on a patrol run when they caught a scent. It’s a few days cold but I have a feeling it is from Hugues.” Amara said with disgust in his voice.
“Well, he escaped some months ago. I was wondering when he was going to show his face around here again.” I replied nonchalantly. It was the truth; we were expecting an attack at some point or another.
“A man like that can’t stand losing to a wolf…let alone a female wolf.” Leo added with a shrug.
“What if they decided to attack when we leave?” Amara asked. “I supposed we can leave more of Vincenzo’s pack here. They are very skilled in the art of vampire killing.”
