Next morning,
Mahir was already in class, he was waiting for Nancy and when she came his eyes opened wide and jaws dropped in shock, looking at her attire consisting of an ill fitted full black pant and a full sleeved black turtleneck.
She smirked looking at him and sat next to him...
M: what are you wearing Nancy!
N: what you said yesterday, full clothes.. (she answered with a very sarcastic smile)
M: sorry!! My mistake!
N: you can't boss me around!
M: I am...
N: what right do you have??
Hearing this, Mahir went silent and then both didn't speak a word to each other.
After the class too, he didn't talk to her at all, while Nanz was feeling too disturbed about t... she wanted to talk to Mahir... and same was with him... he too wanted to talk to her but.... her question came back to his mind... what were they anyways??
The next day Nanz went and sat on the same desk where they used to sit everyday but when Mahir entered he went to some other seat... she was annoyed and went over to talk to him but then the professor came in class... after the class ended, before she could approach him, he had already fled off...
She got annoyed and went to his room after a lot of difficulty as he was in a boys hostel, where girls weren't allowed to enter. She found his room, and she started banging on the door....
Mahir opened it hurriedly and saw Nanz... She pushed him and entered inside and closed the door...
N: what is wrong with you Mahir!!! Why are you ignoring me?????
M: no I'm not!
N: don't be so rude to me! Tell me! Do you think you will get better marks if you stay away from me!???
M: its not that !
N: then talk to me! TALK!
M: why do you want me to say?? And why?? You asked me what are we? Then tell me what are we!
N: Mahir I was just joking... you're acting as if I have your baby in my womb!
M: you weren't serious!
N: of course not! You're definitely not my boyfriend! Neither husband! Not lover! Nor enemy! You're my friend... my first friend in here!
M: same here! You're also my first and well only friend here!
N: then talk to me!
M: I want to!
N: then do!
Both started giggling and then Nancy sat on his bed... that's when she felt something stinking...
N: Mahir! What's with this smell!
M: what smell.???
N: is something cooking here??
M: ya i was cooking rice in the cooker!
N: since when is that thing on??
M: around an hour!
N; you i***t! Do you wanna kill us? Or burn the building down!
She jumped and turned off the stove!
N: one hour Mahir! are you crazy! Don't you know how to make it!!
M: no
N: then why did you make it?
M: i was hungry!
N: let's go out to eat then
M: is it a date?
N: shut up! Just food!
Both went to a restaurant and started reading the menu card...
N: what is this food! I don't even understand a word!
M: really! You don't know all this! God!! Gujurati food is amazing!!! What do you even eat? Idli sambhar (South Indian dish)?!
N: don't say anything about my idlis!
M: fine! Let me order for today! Ummm....
Mahir ordered for the food and Manan started talking...
M: so?
N: so??
M: umm... when did we become friends??
N: well... it isn't a compulsion to shake hands to be friends... all through the day we keep talking, you were protective of me, we used to wait for each other in class... so ya I think it's friendship!!
M: wow! So convincing!
N: shut up! By the way.... I always see you using your phone in class.... why don't you study...
M: because I hate it!
N: then why did you come here??
M: for you!
N: really!?
M: yup.
Nancy gave him a sharp glare making him blurt out the truth
M: I just wanted to get away from my messed up life and here's where I landed...
N: me too... but I still love studying ha! My life is also messed up...
M: why??
N: it's a long story!

N: so... how about later?? Lets just eat for now... besides, to speak about all that I will need alcohol!
M: ohh... ummm...

The waiter kept everything on the table and Manik thanked him.
N: what is all this?
M: just eat it
N: no! what if you spiked it!!

She nodded and reluctantly tried it...
Tough to admit, but she really loved the food...
N: oh my god! Mahir this is delicious!! Ummm!!!
M: thank god! I knew you would love this!
N: it's amazing!
M: I know madam... now pls eat without any noise... coz people might get wrong ideas...
N: is is necessary for you to talk so... so... p*****t-edly... ??

N: and I hate these kinda talks!

N: Mahir! Stop!!
M: fine!
Both walked back to their dorm while talking..
N: so... you aren't interested in studying here... then what do you want to do??
M: I... I actually want to become a singer...
N: wow! Singer at IIM!! Great!! Then why here?
M: my mom. actually I don't even call her mom, nyonika... she put me in here, she paid a lot for this
N: I understand you don't want to talk, so let's talk something else...
M: yup! Let's go for a movie tomorrow...
N: Mahir... you don't have any interest here but I want to score good...
M: liar! Just come... tomorrow night 7pm show!
N: Mahir! I won't be allowed in the hostel after 9!!
M: so!? dont go to the hostel!
N: then where will I go!
M: we'll look after that but you come with me at least
N: ok fine... but what movie??
M: there is only befikre which seems to be good...
N: ok then! See you tomorrow!
