The Demons Reign

Chapter 12

CHAPTER TWELVE

The three Supernatural sat and talked about their fate, rubbed minds together on ways to fix things which has been complicated but they couldn’t come out with anything. In frustration, Elias yelled, “Ah!! It’s useless we’re doomed”, the other two just sat in silence, “ there’s nothing we can do, we’ve sat here for 2 hours trying to figure out a way out of this but nothing “ Elias said as he stood and walked to the window looking out. Dinia walked to him, “we’ll keep trying, we won’t give up, there must be a way” she said.

   Just then Elias saw Rowland with Raphael walking to the door, surprised he said, “we have visitors”, as he walked towards the door, “who could be that?” Aza replied. Elias opened the door and Rowland with Raphael walked in, “I think there might be a way” Rowland said as he stood looking around. 

“Who’s this?” Elias asked after he had closed the door, “who’s this?” Rowland repeated the question, this time throwing it back at him, pointing at Dinia. “You should know me” Raphael said as he brought out his hand for a shake. Elias held his hand, and at once he felt a vibe, he saw Raphael with wings in the midst of clouds, wearing a white robe. Aza and Dinia felt it too as their bodies shook. The three demons began to tremble. Elias couldn’t stand again as he held a nearby chair for support.

 “What’s happening?” Rowland asked confused as he looked at them, exhaling like they’ve seen a ghost, each with bent heads. Raphael was smiling, “Hello? What’s happening?” He asked again when no one replied, “can someone reply me?” He said angrily. “Where did you see him?” Elias asked as he tried standing straight, “he was at my door” Rowland replied. “Oh no!” Aza exclaimed, “what?” Rowland asked him, “we’re really doomed” Dinia replied, “this is getting worst” she added as she walked fearfully to Aza. 

“Ehm, Raphael what did you do to them?” Rowland asked, “I did nothing” he replied still smiling with hands folded. “Well do not be scared, I’m not here for your damnation, I’m here to help” he said. “What!” The three demons chorused in surprise, “Yes!” He replied and sat down. “Can you give us a minute?” Raphael requested, “Me? You want me out?” Rowland asked, “Yes please” Raphael said, “Ehm… Okay” Rowland replied and went out of the house reluctantly.

   “I can’t believe I’m in the midst of demons” Raphael said laughing, “what do you want?” Elias asked, “like I said earlier, I’m here to help” Raphael replied, “you know there are three of us here, and we beat you to a pulp even before you get heavenly assistance” Elias threatened.

“And what made you think you could beat me up?” Raphael asked with a raised eyebrow, “don’t you forget even while you were in heaven I was higher in rank than you all sitting in this room” Raphael added. “well seemed you’ve not known the human phrase which said, “mass is strength” Aza replied.

This made Raphael scoff hard, “I’ve never heard of that phrase in my entire existence and you all know I visit earth more often than anyone of you. So don’t fool yourselves okay?” he said as he went for a sit. 

“What do you want with us?” Elias asked, “now that’s the right question to ask” Raphael replied. “Let me put this through, right from the time you agreed to embark on this mission God had a plan marked out.” The three demons were surprised on hearing this, and Aza asked, “if God had a plan, he would have stopped Elias, sent an angel or done something mysterious to stop this and if he had, it won’t have gotten to this, right?”

Raphael let out a grin before replying, “here’s the truth of everything. The plan of God was you Elias”. Elias who had a bent head before now raised it up and confusion was written all over it. “I don’t understand” he said gently. “Everything that has happened is of God. He planted the human which you greatly love now “ Raphael explained.

“So you were not given a choice not to do the things you did. No! You were made to follow the plan till the very end. And right now I am here to show you what next to do” Raphael added.

“What did he tell you guys?” Rowland asked as he entered. He couldn’t see Raphael in the room but the three demons who were all in a sober state. “where’s Raphael?” He asked the three, “what do you expect? An angel leaving through the door?” Dinia asked pointing to the room signaling he flew through the roof.

Rowland got the point as he nodded and asked his question again, “Wjqt did he tell you guys”. “it doesn’t matter to you” Dinia replied as she stood up and went in, “Who is she?” He asked, “A new friend” Elias replied, “You mean another demon” Rowland said, “Yes” Elias replied standing and moving to the window. “You have a habit of standing by the window” Rowland said going over to him, “what’s the matter?” He asked, “I think you should leave him, he has a lot of things to bother about. We just got into another complicated issue” Aza said.

    “We’ve just became a tool in God’s hand” Aza said as he laughed with his lips, as the trio sat together in the sitting room at night fall. ‘we have no choice” Elias pointed out, “it’s either this way or we have nothing” he added, “we have nothing to loose”. 

“Seeing Raphael made me boil, I remembered what he did to me” Aza said, “if you’ve given me a chance, I would have fought him”, “ Fight? Common Aza remember he’s an arch angel” Dinia said, “he was also your superior then” Elias pointed out. “I still have a fighting chance with him” Aza replied, “he wasn’t an arch angel when we were there, it was after our fall, God made him that” Aza reminded them, “that’s true but you won’t want to risk it” Elias said as he sat up, “It’s gone” Aza replied with a sigh. 

“The day of destruction is near, the apocalypse. I’m more scared and confused than any of you” Elias said licking his lips, “We’ll go through this” Dinia assured him, “heaven will help us”, “ I hope they will” Elias said, “Got to sleep now, have work to do in the morning” he added standing up and going in. “I feel for him” Dinia said to Aza, “the weight gets heavier each day” she added. “He’s strong enough” Aza replied her as he laid down on the couch.

   That night Rowland couldn’t sleep as he rolled from one edge of his bed to the other. Flashes of Rose death kept coming to him, the face and evil grin of Lucifer poured into his subconscious given him nightmares. He woke up sweating profusely, slowly got up and went to his refrigerator, took a bottle of water and headed to his bedside drawer, took a pill and drank it. “Please go away” he lamented as the devil’s face flashes to him again.

That same night, Elias exhaled as he sat on his swirly chair, the words of Raphael echoed in his ear, “You’ll go to hell”. Loosening his tie he relaxed and stared at the window, as his thoughts went wild.

FLASH BACK (HEAVEN)

Lucifer walking around the streets of heaven wearing a white robe, Elias and Reckon beside him, “I’m planning on overthrowing God” he said, “What! That’s not possible” Elias said, “It’s suicide” Reckon added, “Yes but with the both of you by my side we could do it. Apart from the archangels, Micheal, I, Uriah, and Raphael, you two are the strongest and toughest.” Lucifer said tapping their shoulders, “I believe we can do this” he said smiling. 

“God will be pissed and also disappointed in you” Elias replied him, “he made you his favourite, you please him with your voice and his glory feels each place because of you”, “I am the reason for his happiness and praises is his weakness, and yet he places Micheal before me in rank of order”, “and it didn’t please you?” Reckon asked, “Yes off course” Lucifer replied, “that’s why I need you by my side and I promise once we get this, I’ll never forsake any of you no matter what”, “you know the consequence right? “ Reckon asked again, “Well… Maybe” Lucifer replied, “Maybe?” Elias asked with a raised eyebrow, “Guys, if we fail, God is a merciful God, he’ll forgive us, so don’t worry” Lucifer replied. 

“You have a point there” Reckon said, “What if he doesn’t?” Elias asked, “Are you doubting his graciousness?” Lucifer asked, “I’m not but we need to look at the other side of this plan” Elias said, “Okay, whatever happens we will go through this together and I’ll never maltreat anyone of you” Lucifer assured, “what I need you guys to do is to convince others to join our campaign”

PRESENT DAY

Elias was now standing by the window as a tear dropped from his eyes, “I wish I never followed you, I miss the glorious days” he murmured.
