CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE
Agatha was a fine young lady with great confidence. She loved children and because of this she became a teacher. Elias had a keen interest in her. He once saw her at the garden before the earthquake began and since then had stalked her.
“It is time to make a move” he said to himself looking at himself at the mirror. He wanted to look his best today so he took time to dress up. He bought a new set of suit, fantasizing on his wedding day with Agatha.
Aza who saw him that morning quickly noticed what was wrong with Elias especially the way he dressed and so he asked, “Elias what is going on?” “Aza it is time to meet a woman” Aza answered. “You dress like today is your wedding day” Aza said after he had gotten an answer. “Now this is what you need to do, get back inside and wear something simple” Aza suggested, “you do. It want to give the lady a first impression that you have money even though you have”
“You think that is right? Rowland said I have to look good and attractive on my first meet up and then begin a conversation with her” Elias’ replied. “No my dear Elias, that is not always the case. Maybe it works but not for everyone and just focus on being yourself” Aza advised.
Elias stood for a while and thought about what he just heard from Aza and he realized there were meanings. He stood up and went inside to have a change of clothes. “How did aza know all these? After all he was a demon and never got any human experience” Elias thought as he was changing his clothes. “I have to ask him”.
Downstairs, he met Aza waiting for him at the door, “ehm, Aza, how did you know all this?” he asked, “I am reading books now Elias. I think Dinia behavior is rubbing off on me” Aza replied smiling. “I see, so you want to be the wise one too right?” Elias asked calmly, “Read books Elias, read books” Aza replied bading Elias good luck.
Agatha stood at a*****e, she wanted to but a new pair of shoes. She selectee the one that caught her eyes and went over the counter. The price tag was boldly listed on the shop, “Good day sir” she kindly greeted the young man at the counter.
Handling over the shoe, for registering in the computer, she paid for it and walked out of the store. She met Elias outside and he gave her a smile which she reciprocated with a smile back. “Hello young lady, I would like to talk to you” he said to her, “I am actually in a hurry to drop these, so if you can quickly say what you have to say then I will be grateful” she replied.
For the rest of that day, Elias’ friends listened to his story over and over again. Agatha had given him her number and he was happy he structured his words well and Aza’s advised paid off.
“So what next?” he asked Aza, who replied, “keep the conversation alive, keep talking with her and then ask her on a date”. Elias was loving the coaching he was receiving from Aza and Rowland and was grateful he had them around him.
Days turned to weeks and these two new friends talked to each other over the phone and through social media. Aza could see how this affected Elias life as he was not lonely anymore, either chatting with Agatha or calling her over the phone but in any way he was happy for his friend.
Soon, Elias asked her on their first date on which she agreed on. That day was a blessing to Elias as he danced around the house and laughing at any joke even if it wasn’t funny to others. He was finally living to the fullest his human life. “Now it is time to try out that new suit I bought” he said to himself.
“How do I look Aza?” he asked as he appeared before him, “you look good my friend” Aza replied. Dinia who was beside Aza smiled at Elias, giving him a thumbs up. It was night and Elias had already booked the best restaurant in town for this special occasion.
“Things are beginning to take a good shape for him” Dinia told Aza after they watch him leave the house that night, “and I am so happy for him” Aza replied.
Meanwhile Rowland and Rebecca was out for some sight seeing that night. “I need to make up for all the troubles I caused her” he once told Elias, “you are right and I know she would understand because she loves you a lot” was the reply Elias’ gave him.
At the restaurant Elias and Agatha sat for their date, Elias talked about a lot of things making Agatha laugh. He was happy he could always make her laugh and there was something about her laughter that made him want to see it more often. “I have never felt this way about someone’s laughter as I do to her” he thought, “why do I feel this way?” he asked himself.
“Well, I’m glad I have two people beside me who knows everything about relationships” he concluded. These thoughts went through his mind as he watched her laugh. Just then Rowland and Rebecca walked through the restaurant and sat at a table just behind Elias’ table.
“what a coincidence” Elias’ thought, waving to Rowland and Rebecca. “Daddy is that not uncle Elias?” Rebecca asked pointing at the direction. Rowland who was backing Elias turned and saw him, “wow!” he said waving back to him.
“I will be right back” he said to Agatha, standing up to got over to Rowland’s table. “Daddy, I think Uncle Elias is coming over here” Rebecca said but before Rowland could turn to the direction, Elias was already at the table. He gave Rebecca a high-5 and tapped Rowland on the shoulders lightly.
“What are you doing here man?” he asked Rowland, “I came to eat with my daughter, remember what I told you earlier?” Rowland replied, “Oh yeah that’s true.” Elias said smiling. He then whispered into Rowland’s ear, “that’s the lady I have been telling you about”. “Really? She is gorgeous” Rowland complemented. “Thank you Rowland” he said, “I will go back to my table now, I just came to say hi” he added before leaving.
