Chapter Four

CHAPTER FOUR

    “Mr. Rowland? ” Mr. Kim called out as he entered the office, “Yes Sir!” Rowland replied, “Mr. Elias has sent for you” Mr. Kim finally said after a minute silence watching Rowland tidy his table. “Okay sir” Rowland replied and Mr. Kim left.

    “You called for me” Rowland said standing in front of Elias table with his hands at his back in a military manner, “why are you so late?” Elias asked him, “I’m sorry Sir it won’t happen again” Rowland replied not looking at him, “One of the work ethic of this establishment is punctuality to work and you’ve broken it” Elias said standing up, “I’m sorry Sir, circumstances beyond my control came up” Rowland explained. “Circumstances?” Elias asked with a raised eyebrow as he walked towards him, “Yes Sir!” Rowland replied bringing his face down. “What happened?” Elias asked concerned, “I know that this is your first time of coming this late to work and it suggests that something happened so I want to know”, “ it’s nothing Sir, I’ve gotten it under control “ Rowland said smiling sadly, “Rowland? Tell me, I’m interested” Elias said tapping his shoulder gently, “You can have a seat” Elias offered him as he went over to his seat and sat down waiting for Rowland to do same.

    “I had an electrical fault at home which could have sparked fire so I had to repair it soon to avoid this hazard” Rowland finally spoke up after sitting down, “was the fault normal? Or was it unusual?” Elias asked, “it was normal though it wasn’t expected to happen soon, seems like I bought fake wire” Rowland replied chucking. “It’s okay, you have to be careful okay?” Elias said, “Yes Sir” was the reply he got, “you can go” Elias said as Rowland left.

ROWLAND’S POV (POINT OF VIEW)

    “Why did he ask those questions?” Rowland asked himself as he left the office. “He acts weird and unusual…. What is he hiding… Sooner or later I’ll find out.” As he sat down at his table. 

Rose a colleague of his came to his table, “hope the boss didn’t scold you so hard?” “No he didn’t” Rowland replied as he exhaled. “You know the boss acts weird often” Rowland said, “weird? What do you mean?” Rose asked with a puzzled face, “well forget it” Rowland said as he opened a document in front of him. “Rowland you know the boss more than me, you guys have a sort of bond, don’t really know how it came to be but you guys are really close and what you said is left for you to find out how he’s weird” Rose advices and left.

   “It’s the Reckon type of death strategy right?” Aza said as he appeared in front of Elias. Elias stood and paced around a bit, “Reckon is wicked” Elias said, “wicked?...” Aza said laughing, “….All demons are wicked, we are all wicked” he continued still laughing, “he wants to kill him by fire?” Elias asked, “he wanted actually” Aza said and Elias froze at this statement. “Wanted?” Elias repeated, “Yeah but I stopped him” Aza replied, “how?” Elias asked still wondering how weak Aza could stop strong Reckon. Aza laughed, “do you think I engaged in a battle with my superior?” “I’m wondering” Elias replied, “well as soon as Reckon plotted and left I woke up Rowland” Aza said, “and led him to the current leak”. “Wow!” Elias exclaimed and hugged Aza, “you’re the best” he said. “You know am trespassing” Aza pointed out, “how? You just checkmated Reckon evil” Elias said disbanding from the hug, “No! Lucifer sent Reckon and I stopped him, I rebelled and you know the punishment” Aza said with a sad smile. “You won’t be punished” Elias said, “and how do you know that, remember you are in this human body and you are weak and thereby have no strength to argue with the devil” Aza pointed out. “I still have my powers Aza and I can go to hell and be back” Elias said, “you might still have your powers but I don’t think you can go to hell and be back here until you complete your assignment… Elias the rules has changed” Aza said as he turned. “Wait….!” Elias stopped him as he discovered Aza was about to leave, “…. Protect Rowland”, Aza smiled and replied, “ I will” and a whooshing sound was heard.

   SPACE-TIME REGION – region between the physical and the spiritual… (the pathway to the spirit).

Aza was attacked by Reckon and a fight ensured between them, Reckon threw a fist on Aza who landed on his back, another fist followed leaving Aza completely on the ground, he tried to get up but was prevented by Reckon’s feet on him, “You brat! You never stop coming in my way huh! You rebellious son… Birds of the same feather. You shall pay for this both you and Elias” Reckon shouted lifting Aza from the ground and throwing him a distance thus breaking the space-time barrier and Aza fell with his face to the earthly ground. “Ah!!” Aza let out a cry of pain as he stood up. “No where to run” Reckon said as he appeared and dragged Aza by the neck throwing to some drums that was packed at the corner of a building nearby, “Reckon please stop” Aza begged, trying to get up to his feet. 

“You should have thought of the consequences of coming in my path before you came up here to help Elias” Reckon said, forming a fist as he walked towards scared Aza. “You are a fool helping Elias, what kind of bond ensures between you two. Don’t you know he has found someone else to replace you? And without him being out of the way, he’s going to take your position” Reckon said approaching throwing a fist at his jaw. Aza fell on the ground with a loud thud, groaning in pain, “Please Reckon” Aza begged again as he slowly stood up and ran. “You can run but you can’t hide from me Aza” Reckon said laughing wickedly.
