CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

“How is that possible?” Lucifer asked still enraged, “I do not know my lord. One of our surveillance saw him walking on a street close to Rowland’s house” Reckon answered. “What should we do now master?” Lucifer could not answer this question coming from Reckon. He just sat there speechless and forming with anger.

“I still don’t understand what is Raphael’s mission on earth? Could it be because of Elias?” Lucifer asked himself while Reckon watched his master relax on his throne in deep thoughts. “Should I send Reckon to find out more?”, “Maybe I should go myself”.

“My lord?” Reckon called out feeling concerned about the silence and the worry written on his master’s face. Lucifer answered by turning towards him, “what should we do?” he asked his master, “keep on with the surveillance” Lucifer replied, “and let me know as soon as you get anything”. “Yes my lord” Reckon replied, and out.

RECKON’S POV

“I have never seen Lucifer as worried and clueless as this, does I mean he is no longer the grandmaster of every evil? Is he out of juice?” “Can I do anything to help?” “What do I even know? I might screw up everything”, “I’ll live it to him until he asks for my opinion”, “I don’t think he will be able to do that at this moment. He is too proud”, “he would have asked me then but he didn’t”, “I will just have to wait and see”.

Elias‘ phone rang twice before he picked it up, “Elias speaking” he said holding the phone to his ear. “This is Rowland, where are you?” Rowland spoke through the phone, “well, I’m at home. Sorry I didn’t look at the screen to check the caller” Elias replied apologizing, “it’s okay. Call your friends and meet me at our usual eatery” Rowland said. “This morning? Don’t you think it’s too early and it is Saturday. I really need to rest” Elias complained.

“This is very important Elias” said Rowland, “if you don’t you may get into serious trouble, and for waking you up early, it’s 12 in the afternoon”. “Alright, alright we will be there” Elias replied, ended the call and stood up from bed.

Fast forward to the eatery, the four of them sat waiting for Raphael. “Why are we gathered here?” Aza who is always the first to ask spoke up. “You will soon find out, just have a little patience please” Rowland pleaded rubbing his palms together. “Are we waiting for someone?” Dinia asked looking out of the window, “Yes we are and I believe he would be here any moment from now” Rowland replied.

Elias just kept quiet as he watched people who were in the eatery as they are. At that moment he wished he had super hearing so he could hear what everyone present in the room was saying. Mere looking at his face, one could tell he was scared and uncertain on what may happen next. He was so conscious of his environment that his eyes rolled from one corner to the other in search of anything out of the ordinary.

Just then, Raphael walked in. On the sight of him, Elias, Aza and Dinia could not hold there happiness. Dinia ran to hug him, Aza banged the table hard in excitement making everyone turn their heads to their position. Elias laughed so hard that tears rolled down his face. Rowland watched them and could not hold his happiness either, he kept smiling hard, thinking “what are relief they feel right now”

Raphael after receiving the hug of Dinia sat down and observed the happiness that covers their faces like a veil. After looking at them for a few minutes, he said, “laughter fits you all and I know you are happy to see me”. “Happy?” Dinia repeated, “we are joyous” she said. “Yes we are” Aza said and Elias nodded in agreement.

“Thank you for setting up this meeting” Rowland said in gratitude, “It’s nothing Rowland, I am just doing my job, that’s all” Raphael replied. “You should have told us, he was coming” said Elias to Rowland, “and ruin all the fun?” Rowland answered raising an eyebrow, “No my dear friend” he continued, “I wanted to surprise the three of you and I am glad I did. Wish you guys saw your faces few minutes ago. So adorable”.

This landing a soft tap on the back of Rowland from Dinia who said, “stop it”. “I know you guys are surprise that your prayers were answered. It is unbelievable right?” the angel said. “Yes, I couldn’t believe it” Aza replied, “it’s like a dream”. “and if it is, I don’t want to wake up” Dinia added smiling.

“Elias you aren’t saying anything” Rowland said after observing him so quiet, “don’t you want me here?” Raphael asked, “off course he does, he is just overwhelmed that’s all” Aza replied on behalf of his friend. Elias adjusted his sitting position, cleared his throat, before speaking, “I don’t understand”, “understand what?” Rowland asked.

“Why is God so interested in us? Why did he answer our prayer?” Elias asked, “don’t misunderstanding me, I am really happy you’re here but I just can’t quite figure everything out… like how? Why?” “isn’t it obvious?” Raphael replied, “he is still interested in you all and that’s why he sent me”. “Really?” Aza asked, “Yes, okay think of it, demons praying to him for help” Raphael said, “and he answered, you Elias should be happy”.

“I am but just trying to wrap my head around all of this” Elias replied. “Elias, you need to stop asking and hear what he has to say. Believe it or not he is here, here to help so please just listen and stop asking a lot of questions” Rowland said and Elias nodded his head before saying in agreement, “alright, go on”.

“The maker does not abandon anyone especially not you who saved the day. I told you what you guys did will never be forgotten right? Now you can see. So because you guys prayed, something you never had done before without feeling proud like Lucifer, a plan has been set out for you to follow and be victorious once again”.

“What is the plan?” Elias asked with itchy ears.
