Chapter 34

CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR

While he thought, his phone in his pocket rang and he saw the name displayed on his phone screen, on picking it, he answered, “hello Elias”, “I need you at my office now” Elias spoke over the phone. “At the office?” Rowland asked, “Yes” was the reply he got from Elias.

“Didn’t you see my resignation letter? I resigned and I don’t want to get close to that building” Rowland replied politely. “I really need to see you please” Elias pleaded, “I can’t, moreover I’m with Rebecca and I can’t leave her” he replied.

“Then where are you? I’ll come” Elias said but before he could add another word, Rowland ended the call. “He should just let me be, we have both caused each other harm and it is best we stay apart like we never met each other” he thought to himself as he watched his daughter climb a merry-go-round, waving at him with smiles on her face.

“What a world we live in. A lot of people are unaware and ignorant of what goes on around them. A lot of battles are fought that they will ever know” he said to himself as he looked around the park, watching people in the garden having fun. He shook his head slowly, “and how many sacrifices are made just for the survival of humanity. Gosh! Now I know all of this, I wish I never knew anything about the supernatural. I would have been better off”.

Meanwhile, Elias felt bored in his office as he scrolled through pages of documents in front of him slowly, rolling his eyes as he turned each page. “Life is boring without Aza. I just wish I could have someone to talk to, someone I could share everything with.” He thought to himself

“Since Rowland doesn’t want to come to me, then I will go to him”, he concluded, stood up to leave the office. Just then Mr. Kim came in, “Sir you have a visitor” he said, “I don’t need to see anyone right now, didn’t I telling you that?” Elias replied, “You did and I told him but he insisted he wanted to see you” the vice president replied. “I’m about heading out, so he should come back tomorrow” Elias replied heading towards the door and Mr. Kim followed suit.

On getting out of the office , just in front of his secretary’s table stood a man, his suit looked new and his skin was smooth. The man faced the secretary and bus back faced Elias and his vice president. “There he is Sir” Mr. Kim said pointing to the direction the man stood. “Alright, I’ll take it from here” Elias replied, going towards the man.

“Ehm, Sir I think the President is here now and he is coming towards you” the secretary said to the man, who turned towards the direction pointed by the secretary. “Aza!!”

Elias couldn’t contain his happiness as he ran and hugged him to the amazement of the two humans that watched, Mr. Kim and the secretary. “Who is this man?” Me. Kim thought, “I have never seen this man here, who is he to Mr. Elias” the secretary thought as she saw how passionately they hugged. 

“Did you miss me so much?” Aza asked Elias after they had hugged him, “how is this possible?” Elias asked, “this is unbelievable, am I dreaming?” he added. “I heard you didn’t want any visitors” Aza said, “that was before I met you. I didn’t know you were the one” Elias protested

“Wait till Dinia sees you” he added smiling. Aza smiled while nodding, “I can’t wait to see her too” he replied, “but how did all this happen? I can’t rap my head around all these” Elias said looking confused. “Let’s go over to a quiet place, maybe your office if you aren’t going anywhere” Aza answered.

“I wasn’t going anywhere, in fact I was just coming out to met you so now that we have seen, let’s go in and talk” Elias replied, tapping Aza’s back and led him towards his office. Mr. Kim and the secretary looked at themselves saying nothing but confusion and questions they couldn’t ask was written all over their faces.

In the office, Elias was keen to hear everything Aza was about to say, he wanted to know how he got back to life, break out from he casket and dug himself out of the grave. “Aza resurrected from the dead” he said that to himself. 

“Talk to me Aza, just stop staring at me. I am really interested in what you have to say” Elias said and this made Aza smile, cleared his throat and began, “after I got my heart taken by Lucifer, I watched as you guys cried on my body. I wished I could say wished I could say something or move my body but I couldn’t. My eye pupils couldn’t even turn, I just watched and slowly but steady your voices grew fainter and my sight grew blurry till I couldn’t hear or see anymore”. Elias nodded still itching to hear more.

“It was cold and quiet, I admit I was scared , never knew where I was going, I kept walking in circles. I felt lonely and technically I stayed for a couple of days walking in circles until I saw a door.” He paused and watched the expression on Elias face before continuing, “I was tired of walking in circles, like I was in a time limbo so I opened the door with no care of where it would lead me. I just wanted to leave that place and then I found myself in a dark but wooden box. It took me time to future out it was a casket”.

“You stayed there for a couple of days? Did you say a couple of days Aza? You stayed for a month. You have been in the land of the dead for a month” Elias said, “wow!” Aza exclaimed. “How then did you get out of the casket?” Elias asked, “Raphael came” he answered. “ Raphael? Like Angel Raphael?” Elias said surprised, “yes” was the reply he got. “But how? He said that was his last mission to us, ho then did he come to help you?” Elias asked.

“I can’t say how or why but I saw him when the lid was lifted that’s all I know” Aza answered. “I’m so happy you’re alive” Elias said smiling, “Me too” Aza replied reciprocating the smile.
