Chapter 8:
Seo Yuan’s grip tightened on the door handle.
Min Yoon-gi stood before her, a storm in his eyes, but he didn’t say a word.
Seconds stretched between them, thick with everything they had done and everything they weren’t supposed to be.
“Are you going to let me in?” His voice was quiet, controlled. But she wasn’t fooled. There was something darker beneath the surface—something barely held back.
She knew letting him in meant crossing another line.
But hadn’t she already crossed it?
She stepped aside.
Yoon-gi walked in without hesitation, his presence swallowing the small apartment. He stood in the center of the room, his back to her, as if trying to gather himself.
Seo Yuan exhaled, shutting the door. She couldn’t take the silence.
“Why are you here, Yoon-gi?”
He turned then, and she regretted the question immediately.
Because the look he gave her? It was dangerous.
“You already know why.”
Her breath hitched.
He took a slow step forward, then another. Stalking her like prey.
“You think I can just walk away after what happened?” His voice was low, rough. “You think I can forget the way you sounded when you said my name?”
Her pulse pounded.
He was too close now—too overwhelming.
“This is a mistake.” The words were shaky, unconvincing.
Yoon-gi smirked. “Then why aren’t you stopping me?”
She sucked in a breath as his fingers brushed her wrist, as his touch sent fire through her veins.
And then, in a single move, he had her against the wall.
His hands caged her in, his scent—smoke, spice, and something uniquely him—flooding her senses.
Seo Yuan swallowed hard. “You shouldn’t be here.”
His gaze flickered to her lips.
“And yet, here I am.”
Here he was.
And they both knew—neither of them would stop this.
