A name that shouldn't be said

chapter 4 For the next few days, Seo Yuan tried to push Min Yoon-gi out of her mind. She told herself it was just one encounter. One fleeting moment that meant nothing. But the problem was—he didn’t seem to think the same. It started subtly. She would catch glimpses of him at places she never expected. A sleek black car parked near the café she often visited. A familiar figure leaning against a building just as she walked past. His presence wasn’t overbearing, but it was there. And then there were the people. Strangers who looked at her twice before turning away. Men in suits who didn’t quite blend in with the crowd. A feeling of being watched that made her skin prickle. Something was happening. And she hated that a part of her already knew who was behind it. --- Seo Yuan was at a bookstore when it happened. She had spent the afternoon flipping through books, trying to clear her mind. But just as she was about to leave, she heard a conversation near the counter. A conversation that made her freeze. “Did you hear? Min Yoon-gi is back in the city.” His name. She felt the weight of it settle in her chest. The two men speaking had no idea she was listening. “Yeah. People are saying the underground is about to shift.” “Of course it will. The Ghost King doesn’t return for no reason.” Her breath caught. Ghost King? She didn’t know what that meant, but she knew enough to feel the unease creep into her bones. Min Yoon-gi wasn’t just some rich heir or powerful businessman. He was something else. Something darker. Seo Yuan turned sharply, rushing out of the store. She needed air. She needed distance. But the moment she stepped outside, her path was blocked. By him. Min Yoon-gi stood casually, hands in his pockets, watching her with quiet amusement. Like he had been waiting for this exact moment. “Going somewhere, Yuan?” She inhaled sharply. Damn him. Damn him for always being one step ahead.
