"Cattleya, you had a miscarriage. I'm so sorry," the doctor said, his head bowed.
I glanced at Jaxon, who remained silent. His expression seemed a bit disoriented as I stared at him for a long moment.
After the doctor checked my pulse and everything else, he scheduled an appointment with the ob-gyn and then left the room.
Tears began to stream down my face. I didn't understand why it felt like a part of me had been ripped away into pieces.
