chapter 2: Bound by rules

Scarlett’s Pov

Xavier drives Scarlett to his mansion.The drive was quiet.Scarlett was overwhelmed .It wasn't a peaceful ride.

She thought about how miserable her life is about to become.They were both silent.They didn’tsay a word to each other.Not even a single word.

I was tense but I couldn't panic.The road was as empty as the silence between us. It was like nature could sense what was happening as the weather began to change.

Xavier on the other hand was calm,relaxed and composed.Nothing was bothering him,He acted normal .He acted like he didn’t just marry a total stranger in front of the richest and influential people in London.

“What kind of human is this?”I asked myself.How is he not affected by all that is going on?

“why aren’t you saying anything?”

I have other things to do than to talk to you ,He said.

Then why did you marry me?.Do not question me.I don’t answer questions.our marriage was a big mistake and there is nothing more to it.As from now you’ve to be a submissive wife.

“You married the wrong woman “

He gave me a disgusting look and said I married the woman I wanted .I felt awkward.The one

he wanted.Not the one he loves or cares for.But the one he wants to use as a tool of revenge.The one he wants to use to pay a heavy price.I felt bad I wasn't with someone I love.

I couldn’t say anything to him anymore.I was irritated by all he has performed already.

Finally,the long awaited moment as arrived.we got to Xavier’s mansion after feeling like he used a whole century to drive and talk back at each other.The gate of his mansion opened slowly.I felt myself shiver and my stomach crumble just like those days when I was being taken to boarding school.I was anxious and I prayed to God to keep me safe in my new home. He reversed and packed his latest G-Wagon 2026.

“Get down ”,He said angrily.He didn’t even bother to open the door for me.I got down slowly so I wouldn't ruin my wedding gown.His house looked like heaven.It was so perfect. It looked like most people’s dream house.

The mansion was not just large,it is the kind of place that doesn’t ask for attention but still got attention without effort.The tall black gates at the entrance opened slowly like it recognized those that were only permitted to enter.Every detail was screaming luxury.The driveway was lined perfectly.

His mansion was magnificent. it glowed in the night.You could see the intentionality of thearchitecture in the mansion.The furniture in his house sat perfectly in his glass mansion . Heowned four luxurious cars.After admiring the beauty of his house he finally led me to a sit.

“Welcome to your new home”,Xavier said.Those words didn't feel welcoming.It felt wrongbecause it came from Xavier.

“There are rules and regulations in this house and you have to follow them”

,He said.Rules and regulations in the house that I now live in?Yes of course this marriage has a lot of conditions.

“You must not leave the house unless I give you permission to leave.”

“You would attend some official events with me”

“You would only do what i tell you to do”

“You would only be where I tell you to go”Why are you caging me in your house?

it isn’t being caged.it is protection.

“I'm not protecting you for any special reason. I just don’t want you to escape from your punishment”.I just need to get my revenge.

“What is this whole revenge issue about?”I asked him wondering how someone would want to hurt someone badly all in the name of revenge.“I don’t think you’re ready for that topic," he said.

Why i’m i treated like a prisoner?

“You’re not a prisoner,You’re my wife”.

Even though those words felt like a trick to convince me that I'm not caged.It felt like I was in a bondage.It feels like my freedom is lost.

I need to know why I'm here Xavier.I want to know what my father did.And why are you takingrevenge on him?I deserve answers to all these questions.

“Your father took my joy away in my early teenage years”,Xavier said.That statement made my heart race.“It was one unfortunate night”,He continued.Our fathers were the biggest business partners in the whole of London.They were also good friends.Before Xavier could continue he received a phone call.

He received a phone call from the security,He was informed camila was causing a scene outside and she found her way in.

“I would handle it,”he said.I was waiting for him to end the phone call so I could hear what hisphone conversation was about.

Whatever I receive on my phone is not your business.It’s my business Xavier.We are now married.I’m no longer a stranger.

A noise came from the entrance.It was Camila.She looked calm and patient this time.She walked close to me.

“You don’t know who you married,”Camila said.

He doesn’t love you.He just wants his revenge.I started acting confused again.So you don’teven know what led to the union of this marriage.

“You didn’t tell her,”she asked Xavier.If he wouldn’t tell you I would tell you.

Xavier noticed Camila was about to start saying things and revealing secrets. Xavier quickly hugged her intensely and gave her a deep kiss on her lips and told the security to throw her out.

“How could he treat someone he claimed to love like this”I thought to myself.

I was shocked.Camila burst into tears still didn't believe Xavier could do all this to her.She got into a heated argument with Xavier confronting him and accusing him of cheating.

Xavier was quiet for a moment then he said to her”Do you think i didn’t send people to watch you on your trip or do you think i don’t know you cheated on me with Max(xavier’s old time high school friend who stayed in New York or do you think i don’t know that was the main reason you went to New York.

”Camila you have been having an affair with my friend for 2 years "Xavier shouted with the pain reflecting in his voice .

Camila was shocked to hear what she thought was a secret from Xavier.She couldn’t say anything anymore.Before anything else could happen Xavier ordered the security to throw her out.

I was wowed by all that I just heard.Maybe he wasn’t the bad person after all.

Xavier didn’t allow Camila to explain or continue to display whatever she came to do in his house,The security came to handle her and throw her out.They handled her roughly and I felt pity for her.If he was treating her like this,how would he treat me if I made any mistake ?

Camila was dragged on the floor and there was no sign of empathy in his eyes.

Even if he cheated he should at least let her walk herself out of his life.I mean that was what I thought.I didn’t know she would still try and prove her stubbornness.What kind of an evil man are you?

Are you going to stand and watch your workers drag your first love out like that?

You’re such a despicable man.

“You have no right to talk to me like that “Xavier shouted at me with anger.

Something in me wanted to move to tears but I controlled it immediately.

“Ok let her go but just because my wife wants me to”Xavier said.

“But I hope you’re able to bear the consequences after"Xavier looked at me angrily.

Camila stood up from the floor and ran towards me.She grabbed my hand and pulled my hair, threatening me to leave Xavier alone unless she would kill me.I was so surprised because lookat someone i was just supporting now what could Xavier want to say or do.Sometimes i feeldisappointed in some set of women.

At the end of the day, there was no other choice than to throw her out.When she left Xavier started shouting at me not to question his authority when he does something because he always has a reason for doing most of the things he does.

You can’t always be right sometimes Xavier.You were just right today by coincidence . He suddenly felt offended because I wasn't following his orders.Xavier always likes being in control and enjoys ordering people around.

Xavier told me I'm becoming too brave and I'm disobeying his orders. He started complaining about everything I have been doing. He raised his voice at me and I raised mine too.We got into a heated argument.He asked me to keep quiet.

What if I don't?,I said.

Then you would regret your actions.

By the way there is nothing you can do and i also have the right to complain if there issomething that you’re doing that i like.

Since you want to know what I would do, let me show you what I'm made of.All of a sudden he started acting more powerful than usual.He brought out 3 black ropes.He tied my legs,hands and mouth.He pulled off my clothes.I couldn’t defend myself.I tried to scream but my mouths we’re tired.He caressed my breast and played with them.He placed his mouth on my breast and sucked them like he was hungry.He played with my coochie.I became wet and his mood lit up when he saw that.My legs were shaking .He removed the rope he tied on my mouth so I could breathe properly.Then I let out a moan.

“Please stop “I said, begging for mercy.This is torture.

He finally let me go.My body was sore.

“You’re following me to the office tomorrow,You need to

meet my staff “He said with a serious face.

The next day came ,I was still in so much pain.I couldn’t find Xavier on the bed.Heaven Knows

where this man went to and what he is up to.

I dressed up and got ready.Then he came in.

“Breakfast is ready”he said, being happier than usual.I was wondering what was making him happy today.

“You look so good today”He complimented me with a big smile on his face.That melted my heart a little.

Then I suddenly remembered what happened last night .I became angry again.I ate mybreakfast.He drove us to his company.

Xavier threw a surprise party for me in his office.

There was a big banner saying “Happy Married Life” and “Welcome Mrs Ceo”.

Everyone welcomed me with big smiles and gift.I introduced myself and they did the same.I feltloved again after days of dealing with Xavier.

After the whole introduction we partied.I took a stroll to Xavier’s office to see what it is like.

On his table was a big file with my father’s name written on it.It was just a clue about her father’scrime.The information wasn’t clear.Then Xavier walked in on her.She closed the file immediately before she could get caught.

What are you doing here?he asked.nothing just trying to get familiar with the environment.

“I know you wouldn’t want to do anything that would make me punish you,”he said.I felt soirritated.It was at that moment I knew I had married my punishment.
