Chapter Six

Seeing Tobi walk away made Natalie frustrated about her situation. Tobi does not have a polite bone in him at least towards her. She decided to wait for him. “who goes out a day after his wedding” she would talk some sense into his head when he comes back so that he can learn to treat a human. Natalie picked up her phone seething with anger and placed a call to Lisa.

“Hey coz!” said Lisa excitedly.

“Hey!” said Natalie sharply.

“What's up Nat?!. You sound like you are in a foul mood” Lisa queried.

“I am not fine Tobi is at it ." Natalie replied angrily.

”wow! Just wow! You guys have been married for like how long, now maybe a minute or two. ” Lisa said chuckling

Silence on the other end of the receiver.

“c’mon Nat! It can't be so bad? I didn't mean it that way and forgive my bad humor.” Lisa said seriously

“I wonder how you find this laughable.” Natalie replied rolling her eyes

“Oh my bad! Sorry, I laughed my apologies.” Lisa replied more seriously

“Tobi was at his rude best.” Natalie said

“Sure he was, but he will definitely come around.” Lisa said seriously. “I guess I will leave you to enjoy your honeymoon with Tobi so I will not interrupt anything. Bye!” and she hung up.

Lisa decided to check in on Natalie to see how she was faring and met her looking like the world was on her shoulders

“Oh my God Natalie!” Lisa screamed in surprise.

“It's nothing.” Natalie tried faking a smile

“Nat you know that you can always confide in me, we are not only cousins but we have been friends for like forever.” Lisa said

“It's been three days since I last saw Tobi. He left without a trace or a word. I am so confused I don't know what to do!”

“Three days! Did you get into a fight or something. ” Lisa queried

“Of course not” Natalie replied sadly with tears in her voice.

“Have you tried calling him on the phone.” Lisa asked concerned

“I… I... I… have done that and I am beginning to get a bad feeling about this!. I just hope nothing bad has happened to him.” Natalie replied sobbing

“Have you informed the police?." Lisa asked

"No I haven't.” Natalie replied

“Dear cousin I think you should go to inform the police maybe they can help you with a lead concerning him, and everyone needs to be aware so you can get support, you can't face this alone.” Lisa adviced

Natalie continues to sob

“I will come over right away” Lisa said

“Let us keep this discreet until we find him or get a lead concerning his disappearance.” Natalie pleaded

“Don't worry coz I am coming right away.” Lisa said

In thirty minutes Lisa drove down to come see Natalie to cheer her up and console her. The atmosphere was laden with sorrow and tension. They both decided to go to the police to file a missing person's report but pleaded with them to keep the matter low and keep the press out of it. Lisa decided to cheer her cousin up and Lisa suggested they made a stop at the iced cream shop to get their mind of the present issues which Natalie obliged. On getting back home they saw a lot of journalist right outside the mansion. Lisa stopped the car at a distance. Natalie seeing them nearly got a heart attack and started sobbing afresh, right at that moment Lisa got a notification on her phone and checked it out the heading went thus:

Billionaire's heir Tobi Marcel disappears mysteriously three days after wedding.

There were already journalist waiting anxiously outside the gate of the mansion. Lisa and Natalie looked at each other in surprise

“How in the world do these people get their informations?. They look like press men!." Lisa asked

“Natalie did you tell anyone? The news is everywhere about Tobi's disappearance!” Lisa said alarmed

“No I didn't Lisa…. I hope you didn't tell anyone?” Natalie queried worriedly

“Why would I? You asked to keep it discreet….and I did” Lisa replied

“Do you think someone could be targeting the Marcel family?. I wonder how the press got to know about it so soon.”

“Well these people seem to have their ways”

“Lisa I feel I am jinxed….." Natalie said with deep sorrow in her voice.

“Cousin dear why would you ever think of such?” Lisa asked

“What bride have a bridegroom who disappears three days after the wedding? Only a jinxed one I guess!” Natalie said with sadness

“Nat I will not have you berated yourself to and talk menlancolically again….let's stop mopping over spilled water and get to the next line of action!. Which is looking for a way to get pass these journalists and get you safely inside. ” Lisa stated

“Okay let's take a deep breath and count to three…… put up a bold front and you don't have to tell them anything because you don't know anything.” Lisa said

They both hugged each other closely and decided to go inside. On driving closer to the gate of the mansion there were lots of journalists blocking the entrance of the gate. Lisa honked for them to clear the entrance so they could go into the mansion but the journalists surrounded the car, and barraged them with questions. They seemed anxious seeking for something to pen down for their articles.

“Ms Marcel could you tell us what happened before the mysterious disappearance of your husband?” a journalist asked

“Ms Marcel does your husband have any known enemies?” asked another journalist

“How do you feel about this happening barely 72 hours after your wedding to Mr. Marcel?” asked another

“Where was he heading to…..?”

“Do you think this is the work of his enemies or business partners….?"

Lisa had to roll down the car window and told them that they had nothing to comment on the issue. Natalie and Lisa struggled to drive through the journalists into the mansion with the janitors making sure they did not enter the mansion. They both heaved a sign of relief when they were safely inside.

The went inside and sat in the living area to discuss when they were inside Natalie got a call from her father.

“Hello Natalie.” Mr. Henry asked

“Hi dad.” Natalie replied

“How are you?” Mr Henry asked concerned

“I am fine." Natalie answered courageously

“I read the news on the internet it is everywhere. I feel the Marcel family are been targeted!.”

“Yes I think so” Natalie replied

“I am making arrangements to double your security so that you can be safe pending when Tobi would be found.” Mr Henry stated

“Dad …I am fine and I don't think that would be necessary. The mansion is safe and I would be indoors.” Natalie replied

“Natalie you are not just married to just anyone but the third ranked billionaire's son in the world you would need to be adequately secured so you don't end up been a victim too” Mr Henry stated

“Okay dad! I would not want such fanfare because I love being private." Natalie said

"The bodyguards would have to follow u at a distance and protect you at all times.” Mr Henry said

“Okay dad.” Natalie replied

“Please do try to stay safe for us all and good bye” Mr Henry said

Bye dad

When Natalie put down the phone, she continued chatting with Lisa about other things to keep their mind busy when Natalie got a call from a strange number

“Hello! Natalie speaking, and you are?.” Natalie said

“Hi! I am Officer Ted. We got a lead concerning your husband…….” the stranger replied
