"I don't know, I thought there might be a change, but no, it's still the same with him." I press myself into Sean, sobbing, and he wraps his arms protectively around me.
It's three days later, and I had thought I saw a change in Cory that day by the lake. I hoped it was a light in the darkness, but ever since then, he's been exactly where he was before, keeping me at arm's distance.
Sean sighs and rests his cheek on the top of my head. "I hoped too, darling, hoped so much."
