The Sanctuary was a sight to behold as it sat majestically against the mountain’s breast where the main hall stood at the center of a compound of tall structures and buildings. Surrounding the Sanctuary was a covered walkway that formed an enclosure around the monastery. Two tall watchtowers stood on the right and left corners of the fortress overlooking the mountain range and the sea of clouds that engulfed it below. At the center of the compound, a large iron statue stood as the centerpiece of the Sanctuary. The image was of an ancient philosopher in long court robes solemnly observing the heavens and holding above its head a wide scroll that faced toward the sky. It was a befitting statue, one that presented the purpose of the Sanctuary: to seek the wisdom and will of Heaven fervently,
