Shock

Instantly, a wave of intense heat exploded from Ryker's chest, surging through his veins, muscles, and bones. His body didn't change visually, but every muscle fiber tightened with the raw power of a prehistoric beast. His fear evaporated, replaced by a surge of combat adrenaline. ROAAARRR! The giant lizard lunged, unhinging its wide jaws as it snapped toward the wolf girl with terrifying speed for its size. "Get the hell away from her!" Ryker moved. His speed shattered human limits. In a blink, he intercepted the giant lizard. His right hand balled into a fist, a faint, visible red energy swirling around his knuckles. 'Rock-Crushing Fist!' BUMMM!!! Ryker's punch landed flush against the side of the lizard's massive head. The impact was so massive it sent a shockwave that kicked up loose dirt and dried leaves. The iron-hard scales protecting the lizard's skull shattered, spraying thick green fluid and dark blood. The multi-ton monster flew sideways, smashing into a massive tree before crashing heavily onto the dirt, twitching violently until it went completely still. Ryker lowered his hand, chest heaving, staring at his knuckles in disbelief. This power... was real. [Ding! Iron-Scaled Poison Lizard successfully slain. Reward: 300 System Points.] [Hidden Mission Completed: Rescue the Injured Female Wolf. Reward: 400 System Points.] [System is deducting the loaned points (500 Points). Current Host Balance: 200 Points.] Ryker ignored the system for now. The temporary power boost was already fading, returning his body to normal, though luckily his fatigue was manageable. He turned back and walked over to the wolf girl, who was staring at him with wide, unblinking eyes, her mouth slightly agape in utter shock. Taking down an iron-scaled lizard with a single bare-knuckle punch? Even the strongest warriors in her tribe needed weapons and a hunting party for that. "You okay?" Ryker asked softly. He knelt beside the stone trap. Using his remaining energy and a sturdy thick branch nearby as a lever, Ryker threw his weight into prying the heavy stones apart. With one hard heave, the rock shifted, freeing her leg. The wolf girl winced, clutching her bruised, bloody ankle. She tried to stand but immediately collapsed back down with a sharp gasp. "Don't push it. Your leg is messed up," Ryker said. With the sun dipping fast, he didn't ask for permission. He slipped one arm under her back and the other beneath her knees. He lifted her easily into a bridal carry. The wolf girl felt remarkably light, yet toned and solid. Her skin felt warm against his forearms. She gasped, a deep blush rushing straight to the tips of her furry ears. In the primal world, being handled and carried like this by the opposite s*x held an incredibly intimate meaning. But catching the clean, masculine scent of Ryker's body—and remembering how he had just saved her life—kept her from fighting it. Instead, she wrapped her slender, trembling arms around his neck to steady herself. "Where's your home? I can carry you back to your tribe," Ryker asked, walking away from the bloody scene before the smell of the dead lizard drew more predators. The wolf girl rested her head against his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat. "Far... so far from here. I got separated from my tribe's hunting party after being chased by beasts last night," she whispered, her voice incredibly weak. Ryker looked up at the sky, which was bleeding into a deep orange and crimson. The sun would be gone soon, and the primal forest at night was bound to be a death trap. Trying to find her tribe in the dark while blind to the terrain was suicide. "We'll have to use my cave for tonight, then. I saw a small, safe cave right near where I woke up," Ryker decided. The wolf girl looked up at his profile, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you, My Lord..." Ryker smiled faintly, finding the formal title a bit weird in the middle of a prehistoric jungle. "Just call me Ryker." "Ry... ker..." she repeated, testing the foreign name on her tongue. "I'm Cora." Night fell quickly over the Primal Forest. Ryker managed to find the cave again. It was well-hidden behind hanging vines and offered decent insulation. Guided by basic survival tips from the system, he used flint stones to get a small fire going. The flickering orange glow danced along the stone walls, driving away the biting night chill. He had also washed Cora's wound with fresh water carried in a large folded leaf and wrapped it with a crushed medicinal herb the system highlighted as a mild antivenom. Now, Cora sat propped up against the cave wall on a bed of dry grass Ryker had gathered. The warmth of the fire had brought some of her energy back, but her presence was creating a completely different kind of tension in the tight space. As a female of the wolf tribe, Cora possessed a wild, untamed beauty. Her minimal hide clothing did little to hide her soft, shapely curves. Her full chest rose and fell beneath the laced deer hide, and her long, sun-kissed legs were fully exposed under the firelight. But it was her body's natural response that suddenly shifted the air in the cave. When a female of the wolf race felt safe, warm, and protected by a male their instincts recognized as powerful, their body would naturally begin to secrete a potent pheromone. Combined with her deep gratitude and awe of Ryker's display of strength earlier, Cora's primal instincts were in overdrive. Cora's breathing turned heavy. Her wolf ears twitched sensitively, and her silver tail swept slowly across the dirt, making a soft, rhythmic rustling sound. Her amber eyes turned hazy and damp as she stared at Ryker, filled with an unhidden, raw heat. Her skin flushed a deep rose under the firelight, and she shifted uncomfortably, her slight movements causing her minimal clothing to ride up. A sweet, intoxicating scent began to radiate from her, thick enough to fill the small cave. Sitting across the fire pit while holding a piece of firewood, Ryker suddenly felt an unnatural surge of heat hit him. His blood ran hot, and a sudden, intense tension gripped his lower abdomen. His eyes locked onto Cora's slightly parted, red lips and the rapid rise and fall of her chest. The system suddenly chimed in his head, its tone different this time. [Warning: Wolf Tribe Female Pheromones detected in 'Male Acceptance' phase. Effect: Increases nearby male arousal by 200%.] Ryker swallowed hard, his throat feeling completely parched. The view in front of him was testing every ounce of his self-control. Cora looked incredibly vulnerable, entirely compliant, and practically radiating an open invitation. The heat in his body was becoming unbearable, a primitive urge screaming at him to cross the fire, pin the wolf girl down, and claim her right then and there. Cora didn't look away from his burning gaze. Instead, she leaned into it, her body trembling slightly from the strange sensations running through her own veins. "My Lord... is something wrong?" Cora asked, her voice dropping to a husky, breathless whisper that echoed straight to Ryker's core. Her glossy eyes looked up at him with the absolute surrender of a primal female to her chosen male. Ryker gripped the wood tight over his knees, fighting to hold onto the last shreds of his sanity before the pheromones and the sight of her body burned it away completely. "No... it's nothing," Ryker managed, his voice deep, strained, and heavy as he tried to control his ragged breathing. But his eyes gave him away. His hungry, locked gaze only made the wolf girl let out a soft, low whimper, sending the temperature inside the cave soaring past the breaking point.
