Building the First Tribe

Before accepting the system's offer, Ryker let a heavy, tense silence hang in the air. He lowered his hand slowly, keeping his cold gaze locked onto the Orc leader's face. The physical boost from the system hadn't just altered his muscles; it emanated an oppressive pressure that made the primitive creatures in front of him feel suffocated. The three Orcs trembled in fear. The leader didn't even dare wipe away the blood streaming from his broken nose. They knew this strange male standing before them could crush their heads in an instant if he wanted to. "Alright, I'll spare you this time," Ryker finally said, breaking the tension. "But in exchange, I have a task for you." "W-What is it, Master?" the Orc leader asked, his voice shaking, a small glimmer of hope in his yellow eyes. "We'll do anything, just let us live!" Ryker smiled faintly. Mentally, he commanded the system to deduct 100 points and purchase three 'Primal Soul Control Marks.' Unbeknownst to the three Orcs, three invisible beams of light shot from Ryker's forehead and embedded themselves directly into theirs, locking absolute obedience into their souls. "From today on, you are my first servants," Ryker stated firmly. "Your first task: clear out the animal carcasses around this cave. After that, chop down the small trees to the east, gather firewood, and collect sharp stones. Build a perimeter fence around this area to make sure no other predators dare come near. Do you understand?" "Yes, Master! We'll get to it right away!" the Orc leader replied with a panicked nod. The third Orc, who had just been coughing up blood, somehow felt a surge of energy from the control mark that forced him to stand straight, ignoring the pain in his chest. Their fear had now transformed into an ingrained obedience deep within them. "Good. Move it, quickly!" Ryker ordered sharply. "Yes, Master!" The three Orcs scrambled, and the second Orc who had been knocked out was quickly dragged up by his two companions. They grabbed their stone axes and weapons, immediately setting to work clearing the surrounding area with incredible speed, terrified of making the apex male change his mind. Ryker nodded in satisfaction, watching the efficiency of his new slaves. He turned around, pushed past the thick brush, and stepped back into the warmth of the cave. Inside, Cora hastily crawled forward from the straw mat. She had already put her animal-hide clothing back on, though her movements were still a bit stiff from the intensity of the previous night and her injured leg. Her beautiful face was filled with deep anxiety as she looked Ryker up and down, searching for any signs of injury. "Master, you actually beat them?" Cora asked in disbelief. She had heard the loud crashes and the Orcs' agonizing howls from inside the cave, but seeing Ryker return without a single scratch made her mind reel. Ryker chuckled softly, stepping closer to sit beside the wolf-girl. "Yeah, of course. I told you I could handle it. Orcs like that are no match for me." Cora blinked, her silver ears twitching sensitively. "Then... where did they go? Why don't I smell blood, or hear them running away?" "I didn't kill them. I put them to work," Ryker said casually, smoothing out Cora's slightly messy hair. "Right now, they're clearing the forest outside and building a perimeter fence to keep our cave safe. They'll be the first labor force for our tribe." Hearing this explanation, Cora's eyes widened completely. Defeating three rogue clan hunters was one thing, but making those notoriously stubborn and cruel brutes submit as obedient workers? That was something even the chief of her own wolf tribe had never achieved. In her eyes, Ryker was no longer just a strong male; he was a mysterious, majestic creature full of charisma. This overwhelming admiration stirred her female instincts once more. Without hesitation, she crawled forward and threw her arms around Ryker's muscular frame, clinging to him affectionately. She rested her head against his broad chest, breathing in his masculine scent, while her silver tail wrapped tightly around his leg. "Master, I'm so happy to be your female," Cora whispered softly, completely content under her male's protection. "You are the strongest, most incredible male I've ever met in my life." Ryker returned the embrace, running his hand over Cora's smooth back. A faint smile played on his lips as he reflected on his situation. In his past life on Earth, he had been a nobody—a guy who was betrayed, trampled on, and scorned by the woman he loved just because he didn't have money. But now, in this brutal primal world, thanks to the system and his own strength, he could easily command the absolute loyalty of an incredibly beautiful beast-race girl. In this world, might was right, and Ryker was determined to keep climbing to the very top so no one could ever trample on him again. As the day progressed and the sun rose higher, the air inside the cave grew warmer. Ryker gently released his hold and gripped Cora's shoulders. "Cora, since it's already midday, I want you to stay here and rest," Ryker said gently. "Let the medicine on your leg do its work. I'm going out for a bit to check on the Orcs and forage for some fruit or fresh meat for our lunch." Cora nodded obediently. "Alright, Master. I'll wait for you here." Auuuuuuunngggg! Just as Ryker was about to stand up, a long, piercing howl carrying immense power echoed from the depths of the forest, cutting through the massive trees and into the cave. The howl resonated, followed by several lower-pitched calls that sounded like a coordinated signal. Hearing the call, Cora's reaction was instantaneous. Her body stiffened, and her wolf ears shot straight up, moving wildly as she tried to catch the frequency of the sound. Her amber eyes widened in shock. "Cora? What is it?" Ryker asked, instantly alert and ready for any new threat. Cora gripped Ryker's arm tightly, her fingers trembling slightly. She looked at him with an urgent gaze. "Ryker, that's the howl of the Silver Wolf tribe! That's my father and the hunting warriors!" She took a deep breath, trying to steady her racing heart. "That's my family. They're looking for me!"
