"Who is the father of your son, Samantha?"
The words finally slipped out of his mouth and my heart sank into my belly. I stared at him, my heart thudding more loudly. How could I look at an alpha straight in the eyes and lie to him?

If Ric knew Adrain was his son, then he might take him away from me. I couldn't let that happen.
"He was my date during our freshmen party at Arcana Hills, we got drunk and it led to something and we had Adrain." I said the words in one breath, hoping I played well enough and he didn't notice the uneasiness beneath my words. I saw Alaric blink several times and he let out a sigh that seemed disappointed but then, he didn't look convinced.
