Samantha's Pov
Alaric had maintained his order, but I wasn't going to follow it. Not that I intended on finding love here again, but if I did, I would embrace it fully. He couldn't have Lily and expect me to pass on the chance to love because he ordered it.
I had gone to see Kennedy this morning and he was unwelcoming. I knew it had to be because of Ric. He had even declined my request to have a drink with him at the bar when he was discharged. It hurt my heart and my ego to be rejected. I did want to give it a shot with Kennedy; we connected and he was likable, but I guess he was too scared of his alpha to take that risk of hanging out with me again.
