Samantha's POV
"Are you sure that Alpha of yours isn't psycho?" That was Liv, my friend from the academy, Arcana Hills. I was on FaceTime with her and Julian, my other friend and the fake father of my son, Adrian.
I had told them about how Alaric had attacked Kennedy. Liv was stunned, and Julian—he wasn't really taken by surprise, almost like he could reconcile with that truth instantly, like it was expected of Alaric. He had been silent most of the time and just let Liv do the talking.
"Who knows," I muttered in response to Liv, but my eyes moved to Julian on the screen. I was quite curious about what was really on his mind, but he just scratched his head, his eyes making a few disapproving gestures; he didn't buy into Liv's guess.
"You've not been saying anything, Julian." Liv finall
