Alaric's Pov
I returned to stand beside Lily. I could see her shaky hands, which she hid beside her dress. She tried to loosen her wrinkled face to appear less furious, but I knew it, and I could feel her aura.
Jealousy burned through her, and like the heat from flames, it burned my skin because I stood close to her. I heard her deep breathing, then she shut her eyes, letting air out gradually through her mouth.
"What was that all about?" She said, finally finding her voice, but the hurt was unhidden, and her facade was weak.
