Alaric's POV
The silence that settled throughout the hall was even more deafening than any noise could cause. Then gradually the voices rose; people began to murmur amongst themselves, but I couldn't quite believe what I just heard or even saw right now.
The reason my dad had been away from the pack all these years without my mother was because he had been with his fated mate, and they both shared a son. The omega I had thought of all these years as an ordinary member of the pack.
I was shocked beyond the words I could express, and pain hit me strongly. I felt all sorts of things: hurt, betrayal, anger. I raised my head to look at my father, seeing him for the evil he truly was. All these years he had let my mum suffer in loneliness while being accompanied by his true mate?
