Samantha's POV
I shut my door behind me once I got into my room. Alaric had not said anything when I requested a DNA test; he looked so shocked that I had asked for one. He remained frozen on the spot and didn't even move when I decided to leave.
My chest was heaving, so I placed my hand on it while doing a breathing exercise to calm myself. I couldn't believe I had just said that to Alaric.
I moved away from the door to sit on my bed, my fingers digging into my hair in frustration. My lack of control over my emotions had resulted in me setting myself up.
