Complete attitude seizure, and barbaric character overwhelmed Boaz's men. They were a bunch of crooked vampires who had no sympathy for humans, especially women and kids. All were drinking and enjoying the moment when they heard the roar of Alde, the beast. They all became quiet, making sure they heard the sound clearly.
Boaz tightened his chin. "I will get you now, bastard." He swore.
Boaz was more frightened than angry. He hasn't seen the beast, but how the beast was described made it difficult for Boaz to think he can win the fight if they go one on one. He slid his phone from his pocket, unlocked it, and dialled Dylan's number. Dylan picked the phone call on the third ring.
"Why are you calling me at this unfriendly time tonight?" Dylan shot before Boaz could say a word. He knows anything coming out from Boaz's mouth is not something good.
"Hey, Hey, Hey Dylan." He called out, and gave out his sarcastic laugh.
"What's funny?" Dylan asked, almost getting angry.
"Did you hear the earth and heart breaking sound that happened minutes ago?" Boaz redirected the question.
"How about it?"
"We have heard that type of roar before right? The one that ended ten of our clanmates eight years ago, maybe more."
"Why are you bringing this up?"
"How much would it take this time? I told you Dylan, kill your so-called One, and take his place. Isn't it obvious that he is trying to end us all?"
"Shut up. Boaz and get off my phone. This is not the right time to talk about this."
"Just listen to me Dylan."
"Shut up Boaz! Unless ama throw you in jail." Dylan threatened.
"If you won't do it, I will."
"Don't you dare."
"Let's see if I won't." He disconnected the call.
"Hello… Hello… Boaz!" Dylan shouted, staring at his phone. "f**k!" He cursed angrily.
Vanessa paced back and forth in the sitting room, Jarek, deeply focused on what he was watching now, he had switched the station to Nickelodeon - anything else does not matter. Vanessa walked over to the window to check for any sign of Alde, but she didn't see him.
"Why is he not back yet?" She whispered, looking petrified. "What if--" She snapped out of that bad fantasy immediately by slapping herself several times. Vanessa's act drew Jarek's attention.
"What is that, Mom?" Vanessa stared at Jarek. She had forgotten Jarek was still in the sitting room all these while.
"Nothing at all." Vanessa answered, folding her hands, and looked through the window.
Jarek knew almost immediately, she was waiting for his father, her husband. Jarek's brain just booted, and he discussed with his mother the roar that happened a few minutes ago. "Do we rear lions here?" Jarek asked.
"No" Vanessa replied nonchalantly, and he focused on what he was watching. "When it is 9PM, turn off the TV, and go to bed." Vanessa said, and Jarek nodded with his eyes fixed on the TV.
Angelo is yet to wake up, and Sasha is on her knees with Angelo's head on her laps. She stared at Angelo affectionately. Sasha's mother went outside to look for Sasha because she was not in bed. She looked around, and luck met with her, she saw a figure resembling her daughter. Each step would count if she wanted to.
"Sasha?"
Sasha looked up to her mother calling her. "Yes, Mom?"
"What are you doing outside on this scary night? And who is that?"
Sasha down at Angelo. "It is Angelo, Mom."
"Why is he here?"
"Zed, and his friends bullied him, and he shifted angrily."
"He shifted?" Now, Sasha's mother is interested in the story.
"Yes, he did."
"Amazing… What's the colour of his wolf?" Sasha's mother asked.
The pause, the pause, the pause lasted for almost six seconds. "It is brown." Sasha lied.
"Really?"
"Yes Mom."
Sasha's mother carried Angelo who was awake, but decided to maintain his fainted state. She knocked on Angelo's door, and his stepmother came out. She stared at Sasha's mother, and Angelo in surprise.
"How come?" She thought.
"He fainted. And I think he is a man now."
"What do you mean?"
"He shifted."
Fear gripped Angelo's stepmother. "He did what? How?"
"This is not the time to discuss that. Maybe later."
With that, Sasha and her Mom left for their apartment, and Angelo's Stepmom carried him to his bed. When they entered, Angelo opened his eyes, and stared at his stepmom and his stepmom did the same.
"She said you shifted."
"Yes."
"How did you?"
Angelo explained his ordeal, and how Sasha helped him, but got injured instead. "I think that made me pretty angry." Angelo said.
"What's your wolf's colour?"
Angelo felt dumb. "Erhm, I will have to ask Sasha tomorrow."
"Your father is not coming until tomorrow." Lucia, Sasha's mother told Sasha.
"Why?"
"He has some things to handle in his office." Lucia lied. Hugo is afraid of the beast, because the ones who had seen the beast made sure to tell the greatness of this beast, and how powerful it is.
"Okay Mom."
"So, go to bed now." Sasha obeyed.
Hugo sat down comfortably on his chair, but everyone standing before Hugo knew that no one would be comfortable after hearing that disturbing roar.
"Where is Griffin?" Hugo asked.
A muscular figure entered the room, joining the four people standing before Hugo. "Here I am," He said.
Griffin is the elected Alpha for the Mega Clan. He became the alpha when he was 32, and that was 10 years ago. He is 42, looking younger than his age, and seemingly healthy to take on any of the Mega clan members, all except Hugo of course.
"What's your plan to stop this mess?" Hugo asked, and Griffin was caught by surprise.
"You mean me?" The four standing before Hugo stared at Griffin.
Griffin is known for his nonchalant attitude, making a joke out of serious issues - His sense of humour is definitely at the peak of everything else he would ever do in his entire life as the Alpha to his clan.
"Yes… you." Hugo said.
The pause, "Erhmm--"
"You know what? Gather your team, find this beast, and kill it on sight."
"It is bigger than us," Griffin reminded Hugo.
"I know, he is one and you are five."
"But, it is like ten of us!"
"You are screaming at me?"
"Not that One… it is a lost war."
"If we can't catch the beast, Dylan would think we sent it to kill them."
"Let them think what they want to think."
"It is not that they can outrun us if we engage in a fair fight." Griffin boasted, and the rest of his team nodded in agreement.
"This would bring war."
"Maybe not."
Hugo stood up from his seat, and everyone in the room bowed down to him as he took his leave. He halted and turned around.
"You caused this." Hugo said, pointing at Griffin.
Alde had researched the supernatural. He used all his life to make sure he finds out about the supernatural being. He had first noticed the scribblings on the old wall of each street, but Karen made him forget all that, so as to start a new life as a new person, but it would take more than a portion to kill the dream he has for the supernatural world. 10 years ago, before Griffin became the Alpha, he was friends with Alde. They were two best friends like Jarek and Angelo. One very day, Griffin shifted in the presence of Alde. Actually Griffin was not aware of Alde's presence, but Alde saw everything, and he was more amazed than shocked. He begged Griffin to make him one of them, but Griffin denied. The ever ending persistence of Alde in which Jarek has that same trait - he begged Griffin for 2 years. Griffin got tired of him, and gave his blood to him. Alde drank it, and two days later, he became the beast everyone feared. Everything is understandable except the fact that the beast is five times bigger than any werewolf, even Hugo is no match.
"The last time I saw Alde was 3 days after I had given him my blood. I am sure he is not the one behind this." Griffin assured.
"The person you are talking about never left Askarvard. He is the one that carries my daughter to school." Hugo replied.
"He is? Why is it that he hasn't checked up on me?" His words breaths anger.
This whole time, Lucy, the beta, and the remaining three were silent until Lucy asked a question.
"So, he has been in Askarvard all this time?" She turned to Hugo.
"Yes." Hugo answered.
"Do you see any sign it was him when the killings started?" Lucy asked.
"The killings lasted three days only, and I saw him throughout that very time. But, on the fourth day, he acted as if he didn't know me before. The last time I checked, he had gone to the states." Griffin explained his deep hurtful days.
"Who then can it be?" Hugo asked, looking at the Luna, Omega, and Gamma. "You all have been mute since Griffin got here. Say something." Hugo added.
