CHAPTER EIGHTEEN: THE DAYWALKER

1287 Words
Lycans detest werewolves, but Vampires are Lycans greatest enemy. They hated vampires for no reason at all. Maybe because they don't shift, tearing off their clothes, or they turn much more easily than them. But, the hatred was there, and it is visible and vampires always make sure they try their best to stay away from trouble with Lycans. Dylan followed them just to make sure Boaz wasn't planning anything horrible. Dylan got down from the van, so did the rest of them. They entered a forest, not too thick. The sun found a way to shine on the ground between the trees that were a few metres away from each other. They walked for about three minutes. The biggest of the guards went forward, and drew a rope - the rope is like a lock to a secret basement in the forest. The ground opened before them and a ladder had been prepared to make them enter the basement, looking dark from the outside. Dylan stared at the guards, feeling out of place, and making sure his escape plan wasn't tampered with. "Go first." He told the guards. They obeyed him, and they entered. After everyone had entered, the guard who had opened the basement pulled a switch, the lights turned on, and the door to the basement was automatically locked. Dylan looked at the guards suspiciously, and the lead guard told Dylan to follow him. They walked another three minutes in the basement until they got to the brightest room in the basement. Boaz was sitting calmly drinking alcohol. When he saw Dylan, he stood up, and walked over to him. "What's all this?" Dylan asked before Boaz could utter a word. "It is a surprise. You should be happy!" "Happy my foot." "That hurts Dylan." Boaz said, touching his chest. "What is it you wanted to show me?" Dylan asked. Boaz gestured to one of the guards to open a secret chamber in the room - it was not visible, that's why Dylan could not sense what was coming until he saw by himself. Almost thirty humans are in this room, all caged up. Dylan gasped as if he had lost his will to breath. "What is this, Boaz?" Dylan asked, looking angry. He knows he doesn't have the strength to take on the guards and Boaz, so he kept his cool, and hoped for a good answer from Boaz; An answer he will work well with. When the waiting was getting too long, Dylan asked curiously. "You haven't turned them right?" Boaz stared at Dylan. He saw the fear mixed with anger in Dylan's eyes - he loved this moment, moments that he feels in control of the situation. "I haven't turned them in yet, but I will soon." "Why are you doing this?" "It is our plan b if they try to make us extinct. I can't watch them kill my friends!" Boaz shouted. "Or it is for your personal gain." Dylan said, and it caught Boaz by surprise. "What do you mean?" Boaz asked. The Pentagon leaders are chosen in different forms; for the werewolf leader, the strongest of them would be chosen - it should have been the Alpha, but claims had it that the weight of Askarvard and the Mega clan might weigh him down, so the strongest would be one of the leaders governing Askarvard, and the Alpha, the Mega clan. For the Vampires, back in time, the vampires had one ruler for over 500 years, but the leader was killed alongside his family. Since then, vampires do as they please. Now, in Askarvard a leader was chosen to reduce the rate of violence to zero. During this time, Boaz and Dylan were both of the same age, 301 years, both are strong, having that leadership quality. They had a fair fight, and Dylan won. But, Boaz didn't admit defeat, so he always does as he would on a normal day, but his doings are limited, he is not allowed to keep humans as hostage, he would have access to two blood banks in a month, and he must keep violence away from Askarvard. He obeyed all that, not until this present day where he had close to thirty human beings in his custody. The first and Second order and Predatory were chosen by family lineage. "If it was that, I would have ripped your head off a long time ago." Boaz said. "No, if you had, you would be in jail, or would have been buried alive in a lead coffin with a stake in your heart." Dylan said coldly. "When will you believe me? Is it when they have killed all of us?" "Maybe." Dylan turned to the guard that had led them in. "Take me out." He ordered. "You don't order my men, Dylan." Boaz said. "Take him." He ordered his guards to capture Dylan. Dylan who had been ready for a fight since when they had entered the van. He wasn't caught unaware, he fought alongside Figo. The fight was chaotic, and Boaz just watched. He sat down, took a glass cup, and poured alcohol into it, and drank it slowly, watching the fight and also smiling. Dylan and Figo defeated the guards, and more guards came. Dylan looked surprised. "You'd be asking me, how did I get so many guards?" Boaz asked as he stood up, and Dylan was way too angry, but he knows anger is not the answer right now. "Why are you doing this?" "Isn't it obvious? I want to be like you." "Me?" "Yes, I want to be a daywalker just like you." "I have been a vampire from birth. You can't be like me." "We will see." Boaz said. "Seize him." Boaz ordered his guards. Another round of fighting broke out, but it was very short. They knocked Figo out first, then Dylan. "Take them to my lab." Boaz ordered, and they all obeyed him. Few hours later, Figo and Dylan woke up. They ran several tests on Dylan, and with the looks of the men wearing lab coats, it seemed they were successful. "Call the boss." One of the doctors ordered, and one of the guards pressed his hand into his ear, pressing the telecom in his ear. "Tell the Boss, they are done." "If I leave this place, I'm sure you all will be arrested." Figo ranted from the bed. Dylan just laid peacefully, trying to regain his strength so as to get out of this place. He closed his eyes, and couldn't believe what was happening to him. He never thought Boaz would do this. Boaz opened the door to the lab. "I only want to hear good news." "We have checked his blood, it is way different from other vampires, even yours. "What next?" "We will review the samples together, and come up with the actual result that would make you a daywalker." "Interesting!" Boaz said as he walked towards the door. "Boss." The male doctor called out to Boaz. "Yes?" Boaz answered as he turned around. "What do we do with them?" The pause, the tic, the stare. "We kill them." Boaz answered and exited the door. Dylan and Figo stared at each other. They knew they had to do something before they finished with the research. Boaz opened the door again. "When should we be expecting?" Boaz asked. "Give us 28 hours." The doctor said, and Boaz closed the door behind him. Dylan looked at Figo who was already staring at him. "We have less than two days." Dylan said. He looked away from Figo, and stared at the ceiling of the lab. "I can't die like this." He said to himself.
