It was closing time. All the students left the school premises. Jarek, Cassy, Sasha, and Angelo were all moving together. Cassy had already blended with them. She felt the need to do that, so that she won't be lonely, and would be able to avoid any bad thing coming towards her.
As expected Karen was waiting for Cassy at the school gate. At the same time, Cassy wished her Mum wasn't there.
She sighted her Mum, and she squeezed her mouth. "Tomorrow is another day," She whispered.
They all left the school gate. Karen saw her daughter, and she smiled at her.
"You see… I'm here!" Karen exclaimed, stretching out her arms.
They all went over to meet Karen. Cassy ended up in Karen's arms, and the remaining three just stared at Cassy's Mom.
"She looks beautiful," Jarek emphasized on the beautiful, and the remaining two nodded in agreement.
"Hi kids," Karen greeted.
"Hi Cassy's Mother," They all greeted her.
Karen waved at them, smiling sheepishly. "I see you have made friends," Karen told Cassy.
"Yes, I have" Cassy said, smiling at her mother.
They became distracted by Alde's vehicle. Alde came out, waving at Jarek.
"Hey Son,"
"Dad!"
Jarek ran to meet his Dad. Alde caught him by each side, carried him, and threw him up. Jarek countenance changed.
"Dad? Why are you this happy?" Jarek asked.
"I'm always happy," Alde responded, looking at Jarek.
Alde put Jarek down, and walked towards the rest of them.
"Hi Anggy, and erhmm--"
"Sasha," Sasha helped out.
"Sasha! I don't know why that can't stick to my brain," Alde said, "Sorry about that," Alde pleaded.
"It is alright Sir," Sasha replied.
Alde looked at the unfamiliar face amongst them.
"Hello pretty one," Alde greeted, and Cassy bowed down her head.
"My name is Alde, Jarek's father," Alde introduced himself.
"My name is Cassy Norman,"
"Nice meeting you Cassy,"
Cassy bowed down her head to return Alde's nice gesture.
The whole time, Karen was staring at Alde, as he smiled, and chatted with the kids.
Finally, Alde turned to Karen. He stared at Karen as if he had seen her before.
"Have we met before?" Alde asked Karen, and both Cassy, and Jarek looked surprised.
"That's a bad pickup line, if it was," Karen said.
"No! No!!" Alde laughed out loud, "wtf," Alde laughed again, "I didn't mean it that way, seriously," Alde finally stopped laughing.
"I'm Karen, and this is my daughter, Cassy"
"Amazing. Nice meeting you, Karen"
"My pleasure,"
"Hi Cassy,"
"Evening Sir," Cassy bowed down to him.
They shook hands…
"If you don't mind, we need to get home," Karen said.
"No problem," Alde responded.
Karen entered her car, but, still yet, Karen stared at Alde as he gestured to the rest to enter his truck. "He has grown," She thought.
Alde dropped off Sasha and Angelo at their usual junction leading to their community.
6 minutes later, Jarek saw a book he wanted to give Angelo.
"Dad, please can you turn around, I need to give Angelo this book,"
Alde stared at the book in Jarek's hands.
"Okay"
Alde turned the car around.
They got to Angelo's community. Jarek got down, and looked at his watch.
"It is just 2 minutes past 4PM they will allow me in," Jarek said.
Anyone who is not from the El Salvador community can't enter through the gates when it is past 4PM.
But, Jarek entered anyway…
Sasha and Angelo walked through the gates of their community.
"Angelo,"
"Yes?"
"Do you have time tonight?"
"Sure, I'm always free,"
"Alright then, I'll come over to your house. Just wait outside by 6"
"Alright"
Sasha walked over to her house, and bade Angelo goodbye.
Angelo lived six houses from Sasha's. Angelo walked slowly home, kicking rocks, and staring at kids playing outside their houses. Suddenly, he heard his name.
"Angelo!"
Three bigger boys walked up to Angelo, one crossed his arm around Angelo, one removed his bag from his back, and one beat his back.
"How are you? Missed us?"
"Gastro, I'm not in for all of this, please" Angelo said, swiping off Gastro's arm.
"Hehe, give us some slack, we did not even touch you during break time,"
"That was because you are busy, and please stop picking on me,"
"Picking on you? As far as this time is concerned, I'm way older than you,"
Gastro stopped walking, he stared at Gastro, and they all halted.
"Because, I haven't shifted?"
"Yes! Are you even part of us?"
"At least it was confirmed I have werewolf blood, so I'm part of the clan,"
"No, you are not… You are an outcast here"
Gastro said, s******g Angelo's head, as they all left him.
They threw away his books, and he bent down to pack them. As he packed, Jarek joined him in packing. Angelo looked surprised.
"How long have you been here?" Angelo asked amidst dry tears, but it shows clearly that he was sad.
"Just got here," Jarek lied.
They finished packing, and Jarek handed over the book to Angelo.
"Thanks,"
"You welcome,"
Jarek turned around, thinking about all that he heard.
"Can this be true?" He whispered as he walked away.
Alde was waiting by the car, then his eyes strayed over to the brick just like the one Lukas showed him. He became curious, and went over to the brick to fulfill his curiosity.
Grass had covered the floor in front of the brick. He uprooted the grasses, cleaning the cemented ground, and he focussed on the written words on the cemented ground.
"Passa City," He whispered.
He heard a voice from behind.
"Young man! What are you doing there?" An old man cried out to him.
"Nothing," Alde hastily lifted himself up, and walked over to his car.
Jarek was lost in thoughts, he didn't even know when he got to the gate.
"Son,"
Jarek didn't answer…
"Jarek," Alde shouted.
Jarek woke up from his thoughts, "Yes Dad?"
"Get in fast… You are walking like a zombie who hasn't drank blood for 1000 years," Alde said.
They got in the car, and drove off…
The journey was silent as both were thinking about what they had seen, and heard, then Jarek broke the silence.
"Dad?"
"Yes Son?"
"Do you think there are supernatural beings here on earth? To be specific, here in Askarvard,"
Alde fixed his eyes on the road. "Who knows? There might be," Alde answered, smiling.
Karen and Cassy got out of the mini car, and they both went inside.
"Are you okay, Mom?"
"Yes, I'm fine,"
"You were silent throughout,"
"I was also silent in the morning while I carried you to school,"
Cassy went in first, and Karen followed. The other witches greeted both of them as they entered.
One collected Karen's bag, and one collected Cassy's own.
"Be up for dinner soon,"
"Okay Mummy,"
They both departed into their rooms.
Cassy flew on her bed as she laid down like a log of wood.
"I'm so tired," She whispered.
She went into her bathroom, cleansened herself up, and left for the dining room.
Karen hasn't pulled off her clothes. She went over to her cupboard, drawing a drawer, and slowly picking out a hair clip from the drawer.
The hair clip was yellow, taking the shape of a butterfly. She looked at it and smiled.
The door to her room opened, but she wasn't aware...
"He is very much healthy now. He doesn't even recognise me. Why will he though," Karen talked to herself.
"Whom are you talking about?" Cassy asked, looking at her Mom.
"No one," Karen replied, returning the clip back into the drawer.
"Is the table prepared?" Karen asked.
"Yes, it has. I came to call you before the food gets cold," Cassy replied.
"Let's go then," Karen said as he held Cassy by her shoulders, dragging themselves out to the dinning.
Max entered his house, no one was in the sitting room.
"Dad, I'm home," Max slightly shouted.
He walked into his room, dropped his bag, and left for his dad's room, then he heard noises from his dad's room. His Dad, and stepmom were arguing again.
Max Mom died after giving birth to Max. This is one of the most dreadful days in Edwards life, so he cherished Max a lot.
"I won't allow you to go!"
Max heard his stepmother rant to Edward...
"I have to. I need to protect this family at all costs!" Edward shouted.
"There are others who can go out of thousands, why must it be you?"
"I need to... I have to,"
"What about Max?"
"He is my Son, he will be fine,"
Max was eavesdropping when the door opened up. Edward was surprised to see his son.
"Max,"
"Yes Dad,"
"When did you arrive?"
"Just now,"
"Alright, come over to the sitting room,"
"Okay"
Edward led the way, and before Max could follow, his stepmother came out of the room.
Max bowed down his head facing her, "Good evening,"
His stepmother scoffed. "Can't you call me, Mom?"
Max looked at his father, and restructured his last words. "Good evening Mom,"
She nodded. "How was school today?"
"It was fine, Mom," Max replied as they all went down to the sitting room.
