34 Eric threw me down on an armchair in the living room, untied my hands, and then tied my wrists to the arms of the chair. He excused himself, as if he were actually polite, and went to the kitchen to make some calls. I couldn’t make out the exact words, but I did hear his tone and it didn’t sound pleasant. He stayed on the phone for over twenty minutes. If it was one call or several, I had no idea, and I didn’t really care because my mind was trying to come up with a plan. Any plan. Any idea.
