"What happened, Kae?" Alpha Gemini asked me when we rode into her car after a warrior took all the shopping bags from Alpha Aeris. Her voice was brusque, bringing back the dark thoughts I despised so much. "Why are you with Aeris? She asked me to take you out, but b***h didn't listen," she added.
"Um, s-she saved me from Jack, Alpha," I replied, trying hard not to stutter again.
"I knew that, and I told her she could take you out for lunch, but I didn't know dinner was included," she said, sounding pissed.
"Sorry," I replied. I don't want to tell her about our encounter with human hunters. "It's just that I enjoyed watching the aquarium, and I didn't notice the time," I added.
