Anna laughed at the drama unfolding before her. She liked Nate so much, since the guy was so funny, and besides, he was the only friend that still stuck close to Lucian, no matter how many times his parents warned him to stay away. Sometimes Anna feared that one day his parents might go berserk and come attack them for abducting their son. Yes, apart from Nate, all the kids in the town never got near Lucian, since he was said to be a reject by the lords above. Only Nate saw Lucian differently. He loved the look of Lucian's eyes and called him Little god, which always made Lucian roll his eyes despite the number of times he warned him not to call him that.
Nate rushed to the little dining table in Lucian's house , when he saw Anna, he bowed, which was their usual greeting, and displayed that goofy smile of his which made him look so adorable, but to Lucian it was his silly smile for deceiving people . " aunt Ann, can I get a bowl of your delicious soup?" he said, " Mum, please don't get carried away by that smile of his" Lucian said as he came by to his seat. Anna laughed while Nate glared at Lucian. " Little god are you trying to make me miss my dinner?", Nate said, still glaring. Lucian always saw through his schemes and he never understood why. " Nate, have a seat. Don't mind Lucian, I'll fetch you your bowl of soup" Anna said, while chuckling at their little conversation. She knew Lucian loved his friend and would feel sad if he didn't come to visit, but would biker with him all the time when he came.
Anna came by with a bowl of soup for Nate, which he gingerly accepted, said a thank you and started eating so fast. he was halfway through when he realized Lucian staring at him in awe. " Hey little god, I can help you if you cant finish yours, I learnt the gods don't eat much." Nate said while he starred at the half finished soup infront of lucian.
" Go away ! Do you ever get satisfied? And I've told you to stop calling me that. My name is Lucian!!" Lucian said, trying to sound serious in his little voice. " I won't stop calling you that. Bite me , not when you have such pretty eyes." Nate said as he stuck his tongue out to annoy Lucian. He loved it when his friend looked so agitated. Lucian squinted his eyes and shook his head. There was no reasoning with his friend, he just did whatever he wanted, but he liked him that way anyway. He was the only one that didn't look at him with fear or disgust, and he was happy about that, but that would not stop him from arguing with him never. Anna laughed as she saw the two kids bickering in front of her. She never liked seeing Lucian so lonely, and she was glad he had Nate as his friend.
" Hey little god, do you know my father started teaching me sword fighting yesterday? " Nate said with excitement in his eyes. "Really? Wow, how was it? Is it as difficult as people say it is? " Lucian asked eagerly. He had always wanted to learn sword fighting, but he didn't have a father to teach him, and none of the men in the town would, because he disgusted them. They also claimed he was blind and hence was useless at learning sword fighting or anything. Lucian never saw himself as a blind person. To him, he only saw things differently from others. It didn't mean he was blind. And even if he was, that didn't mean he was useless, right?
