Chapter4

Lebron's pov My eyes regained their sharp glare. I was determined to find out what Ava's plans were. I made my way out of the Library back to the guest room. Just as I was about to open the door, it snapped open. Ava slowly leaped towards me. She only came to a halt when she was only an inch away from my face. "Pretty boy, I need to talk to you. I know you have questions about me. I'll clear your doubts, okay?" She proclaimed. This made me all the more confused. How was it that this lady stayed one step ahead of me was something I could not wrap his head around. She slung her hand over my shoulder for support as we walked slowly towards the foyer. We both sat directly opposite each other. I fiddled with my fingers impatiently, waiting for her to speak up. "Okay, here is the thing. I am not originally from Getra. My home is in Ryon but I somehow wound up here after my fiancee and friends betrayed me." She explained. My face sank into a look of frustration as if the scene of how she had been helplessly replayed in front of her. She caressed her stomach with so much care. "Do you know I was supposed to have a baby but she is gone now? She was innocently dragged into their power tussle all because of their inability to reign in their greedy nature." "This time, it's my turn to mete out the same measure with which they dealt ruthlessly with me. By the Gods, I would give my soul to Hades if that is what it would take for me to exact my revenge." She barked. Her green eyes glared with so much resentment that I felt if I didn't run, I would be swallowed whole. I couldn't believe this feeble woman before he could exert such blood lust. As if what possessed her had lifted, she regained her composure and beamed with a charming smile that caused me to calm down. "I'm sorry you had to see that. I know it's crazy for you to believe a total stranger and her tall tales out of the blue. After the parade tomorrow, I'd love for you to help me get back to Ryon, please. I promise to never again bother you." She stared into space with a longing look at what seemed impossible to reach. I felt my firm walls crumbling down at the sight of this sorrowful woman. My inside began to cry out in chivalry. I suddenly wanted to make everyone who played a part in making Ava unhappy suffer a fate worse than death. "I'll help you. And no, I don't mean getting back to Ryon. I mean, I'll help you get revenge on the people who can cause such unhappiness to stain your heart and soul. I'll pull us from their roots." I blurted out angrily, whilst clenching my fists. "No! I won't let you do that. Don't concern yourself with a stranger. Why? You only met today, why put yourself out there for me? What if I'm the one at fault? What if I'm lying to have you do my dirty deeds? There is too much at stake. I can surely allow a wonderful soul such as yourself to soil your hands with blood." She said with wide eyes. I shook my head vehemently as a sign of refusal to her rebuttals. "You're not lying. I know I have way too little to go on as to why I should trust you, but my heart is urging me in all earnest to help you. I don't care if you're wrong or not. I'll deal with the aftermath of my decision when the time comes." I affirmed stubbornly. There was no way I could leave her all alone to fight, her fight was now mine to bear whether she liked it or not. She heaved a sigh of surrender, but beneath her apologetic look, I could tell that her insides were churning with joy, so much more that she glowed happily. It didn't matter though to me, I was still going to help her no matter what. She was my priority now and I was going to make sure I helped her as much as I could. I was going to be part of the revenge story and give her all of the tools she required to win this war then slowly lure her in. "I don't know why you have decided to help me take on my foes or why you're so convinced you're fighting on the right side. But after all this is over, you can have my life and do as you please. I guess I didn't need to give my soul to Hades, you can have it." Ava said resolutely. "Your soul? Nah, you can keep it. I don't have the power to wield something on that level." I quipped teasingly. "Oh please! Men are all the same. Your sword might be sheathed now, but soon or later, you will draw it." Ava sneered. I was baffled at how untrusting she was and wondered how much hurt she had to go through to be birthed as the fiend before me "I don't need you to trust me, okay? You just need to avail yourself of my resources to get justice for you and your baby. If I can achieve that, then I can rest easy." I declared and turned to leave. "Hello? Ain't you forgetting something? You know I need help with walking around your house, right? It's needlessly large." She rolled her eyes, laughing. "Right," I strutted back and picked her up like a princess, and swiftly took large strides towards the guestroom. "I'll pay you back for this once my leg heals," Ava said embarrassingly but I paid no mind to her words. I was only concerned about her hearing my heart rebelling against my cage. f*****g hell, I am whipped.
