Ava's POV
The vein of light that streaked through the window to assail my peerless face, woke me up. I stirred lazily and hugged my pillow lovingly, not wanting to get up from the comfort of this unimaginably soft bed.
But I knew sooner or later, I would have to get out of bed. After all, I had a revenge plan to hatch with Lebron. Just as I thought about him, he peeked into the room out of the half-open door.
"Rise and shine?" He jested.
"Leave me alone, you rat!" I ordered.
He poked me continuously, urging me out of the bed. Grumbling under my breath, I got up and made my way to the bathroom while grumbling all the way.
"Please, don't spend all day in there, we have a parade to attend. And revenge to plan while we are at it."
"Huh? I think you have the order backward. My revenge takes priority." I retorted, yelling over the shower. Not even an obvious joke could make me bulge on what I wanted.
After what seemed like forever, Lesbron and I began making our way through a maze of colorfully dressed people who cheered and danced to drum beats.
"I thought we came out to enjoy the parade? So, tell me why we are navigating this sea of overzealous people?" I lamented. Even though my leg felt better, I still leaped about and it made me exert more energy than I should have.
"Be patient, We are meeting some of the people who would help us with getting that justice we talked about." Lebron scowled "Your leg must have gotten better" he eyed me once more
"Revenge, not justice. Don't get it mixed up." I quickly corrected it.
"Same difference. As long as you get your wish, I could care less what you call it." Lebron chirped.
Before long, we arrived in front of a stall which I stared at quizzically but got dragged in by Lesbron. On the inside was a middle-aged man who typed on a computer with so much speed that his hands almost looked blurry. His stern look collapsed into a sweet smile when he looked up from his computer screen to see Lesbron.
"Sugar pie" He hollered and made a beeline movement with his hands spread open attempting to lock Lesbron into a bear hug. He skillfully docked to the side.
"It's Lebron. When will you learn to call it right?" He said sternly but soon burst into laughter.
"Mr Cipher! It's been a minute. How have you been holding up?" Archie asked in a cheerful tone that surprised me.
"Hmph! Rotten brat, always dodging my Papa bear hug. I'll get you one day." Cipher said in a somewhat defeated manner.
"And this?" Before Lebron could answer, I stepped forward and extended a handshake to Cipher who shook it but had a wary look on.
"I'm this pretty boy's girlfriend." I teased.
His eyes almost had his eyes pop out of their socket in bewilderment. He looked from Lesbron to me, surprise tainting his features "Wide joke love" he looked back and forth once more before bursting into laughter. "This fucker doesn't have a heart".
"Are you guys done?" Lebron drawled out lazily.
I beamed a smile at Cipher with no intention of clearing up anything. Later on, I found out that Cipher was a world-renowned hacker who could grant me access to my fiancee and my friend's devices. I needed to keep tabs on their activities.
"Meanwhile, I'd be traveling to find another one of my friends who was a private investigator. He is a bit odd and takes a lot to get him to move. It might take some time. While I'm gone, you and Mr Cipher will travel to Ryon as it would be easier for him to access the State's server from there." Lebron explained.
I looked at him for a while, he was like a puzzle I couldn't figure out, first of all, he seemed softer for a vampire and I remember hearing his heartbeat. Weren't they supposed not to have a heart?
"What is he?" I whispered still looking at him as he answered a call a few steps away from me.
"Half human, half vampire. The banished cursed heir of the vampire king"
I gasped, knowing the man I had crossed paths with was the man every story everyone knew about. What was he doing here in the human world?

In the dimly lit park, I sat on the park bench, my eyes fixed on the distant horizon as Lesbron approached me. His presence brought a rush of conflicting emotions within me - a mix of longing and apprehension.
She hesitated for a moment before speaking, taking in my serene expression. "Hey," he said softly, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
I turned to face him, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach my eyes. "Hey pretty boy," I replied, trying to keep my tone casual despite the tight knot of emotions churning inside me.
As we stood facing one another, an invisible barrier seemed to have sprung up between us - unspoken words and unresolved feelings hung heavy in the air.
He took a step closer, his eyes searching mine for any sign of what I was feeling. "You are scared of me" he blurted out finally, his voice laced with vulnerability.
"Yes," I confessed quietly, my voice barely more than a whisper. The admission hung in the air like a fragile thread connecting our hesitant hearts.
He reached out tentatively and brushed a lock of hair behind my ear, his touch sending shivers down my spine. In that fleeting moment of closeness, it felt as though time had stilled around us - nothing else mattered except the two of us standing there on the edge of something unspoken yet deeply felt.
Our gazes met and held, silently conveying unsaid words and unfinished conversations. In that shared silence lay a world of possibilities waiting to unfold - if only we were brave enough to take that first step towards one another.
"Run Ava, far away from me, If I catch you. We play a little game with your blood" he rasped, his fang coming forth. This was who he was. A wild beast and I realized this was the first time he had called my name.
