True Love Knows Not Time or Boundaries

MaryBeth backed away from the window and looked down the hallway and looked back at the window. The stomping running feet and the jiggling keys were getting closer; they could see her standing in the hallway. She took one more step backward and then lunged with all her might at the window. Putting out her right foot to smash the glass. As her heel connected with the glass, it shattered and fell away in waves bouncing off of her as she sailed through the window. Her feet touched the ground and she was off like lightening. She felt a rain drop hit her face and she smiled, knowing that freedom had finally come to her. She heard the doors open behind her and people yelling and she knew the fight for her freedom was not over yet. She headed for the forest. Nakita and the gang Nakita slowly walked toward the sound. Slightly crouched for both protection and ready for anything. She heard another twig snap and then a girl stepped out from behind a tree. Just a small girl with her clothing tattered and torn. Her hair was brown and full of snarles and tangles. Her big brown eyes were puppy dog-like with sadness. Nakita could smell something was not right with her. As she got closer she could smell the rot coming from her. She knew she was infected with a demon. Nakita tapped her staff on the ground and halted everyone from following her as she approached this young girl. She could see the fight that was happening inside. The girl did not want to attack. Nakita took this opportunity and approached her and signaled to her to look into the staff as it glowed orange, memorizing the young girl. The girl started to shake violently and her mouth opened wide and her eyes were scared. Then a black mist came floating out of her mouth, looking like an octopus searching with its tentacles. The girl's body fell to the ground and the black mist floated for a moment and then turned to ash, falling to the forest floor. "Carry her" she commanded one of the warriors. As she crouched next to her and gently held her hand, looking at her for a moment, her face looked peaceful to her. Another snap of a twig pulled her back to reality and she sharply focused on where the noise came from. Out from the shadows of the overgrown forest a man appeared. He was tall and portly with a big nose and small eyes with a mostly bald head. He didn't try to hide himself as he walked toward her. He did not seem infected or aggressive as he approached her. He was about 100' away when he stopped. He raised his hands to the sky as the rain started pouring down. He dropped to his knees and bent forward "The Queen has returned." He said loudly. He raised himself up, sitting on his heels. "The Queen herself has returned to save us all." He screamed even louder. Letting the rain hit his face. After a few moments, several people started making their way out of the forest's shadow and soon there were about 20 people, all of different ages, who stood behind him and bowed to their queen. Josh made a move to confront him when Nakita stopped him in his tracks with her staph. 'Not you, my true love, not you.' She nodded to Alpha Giest and he approached the first man. "What say you, sir?" Giest was standing right in front of him. "She is our queen, we have been praying and waiting for her to save us all." He looked around him suspiciously. "The evil is all around us. It rots us from the inside out." "How do you know this is your Queen?" Giest really wanted to know. "Because she is the only one that can save us. Didn't you see how she saved the girl?" He pointed at the girl that was standing next to the warrior. "She carries the staph." "Have you seen this staph before?" Giest asked. "Only in our storybooks that we use to preserve our way of life, waiting for the Queen to return and chase away all the evil from this land." He pointed into the woods, indicating that is where these books are. "What do you know about this staph?" "It shoots fire and lightening and can close the portal that has been ripped open by ill-will and greed." "Greed from whom?" Just as the man was about to answer, an arrow shot through his chest, ripping his heart into pieces. He was unable to answer the question and everyone that was from the forest started running for the forests' protection. Alpha Giest quickly looked the way the arrow had been shot from and saw several men, looking like the king's guards on horseback from a ridge that was to the left. He saw them pulling back on their bows and he told everyone to take cover. Nakita turned and saw what was happening. She thumped the ground loudly with her staph and it lit up bright white. She watched as they released their arrows upon them. There were about 100 men on horseback shooting at them. She picked up her staph and wielded a giant circle above her head and the white light spilled out of it totally in her control. When she finished making a complete circle, she picked it up out of the air and tossed it over her warriors to protect them. The arrows stuck in the white light and she called the white light disc back to her and then she threw it like a frisbee back at the men on horseback, flinging arrows back at them. Then she pounded the ground with her staph, making the ground shake and rumble. The horses started to spook and thrusting her mighty staph in the air and pointed toward the already spooked horses and the wind was called up and all the rain drops turned to ice as they hit the men and their horses. Making them run away to escape the pelting. When they were gone, all was calm again and the gentle rain continued to make everything a mess. Josh watched his mate take total control of the situation and the environment around her. She artfully commanded the power of the staph, gaining the trust of all these men and the people whom she just saved. His chest swelled with pride. She turned around and looked at everyone and they all took a knee. Including Josh. She walked up to Josh and tapped his shoulder. "If I am Queen, then that makes you the King." She pulled him to his feet and everyone cheered for them. The moment was short-lived as they took cover in the forest. They know that they are here now. Silently, they made their way through the forest talking via mindlink. After about 45 min, the forest gaveway to a large meadow and you could see the fortress in the distance several miles away. As soon as Edward broke the forest line he could smell her. She was close enough that he could actually smell her. Initially, he thought it wasn't her and then his wolf took hold of the scent and pushed Edward out of the way. He started walking away from the group and then he started running away. His mind was going wild with anticipation. He had no control over what he was doing, pure instinct had kicked in. Alpha Giest started to follow him and then had to run after him. Edward was not even responding to him. Nakita watched them running along the forest line and she knew that her mother was near. She also knew that with her came a clan of warriors, following her. It could be a set up. Nakita took off and everyone followed Edward on his path to his mate, who he hadn't seen in more than 20 years. MaryBeth She ran like the wind through the woods and then she was stopped in her tracks. It was him. Edward was close enough to smell. She turned around trying to get a good location and then she pinned it. She started to follow his scent. Her heart was beating wildly in her chest. Her stomach was doing flips, she had dreamed about this moment since she woke up in that horrid room. It was this moment that helped her get through all the torture and the mind games. She could feel herself becoming whole again as she got closer and closer. She ran faster as the scent got stronger. She was breathless as she went around a large oak tree and there he was. His black hair was long and waving in the wind, his skin was wet from the rain as he stopped and saw her standing there. The breath was knocked right out of him. They stood 50 feet apart just looking at each other for a few moments. She was trying to make sure it wasn't a dream. Then he started moving toward her and she him. Her arms opened wide as she desperately ran towards him and he towards her. The group just stood there and watched them come together with desperate cries. They wrapped their arms around each other and fell to the ground. Almost screaming with passion, letting out all the pain of the years gone by. His energy filled her completely as his arms engulfed her. His legs were weak from anticipation and he was still a little out of shape. His lips looked for hers as they fell to the ground with him landing on top of her. Their lips held nothing back and let the desperation and pent-up passion seep out as they explored each others mouths. MaryBeth pulled back with her hands on his face and took him in for a moment. "You are really here?" Tears flowed from her eyes. "I am really here." He reached to kiss her again but this time it was a bit softer with more control. They didn't need words, they exchanged energy and made each other stronger. He kissed her neck and made his way to where he had marked her the very first time and sunk his teeth in. She could not do the same because she was unable to reach her Lycan. He pulled back and he saw the pain in her eyes that she could not mark him back. "It will come my dearest, it will come back. You would not have been able to pick up my scent without her. It will just take time." Deep inside he was angry at what she was going through at that moment. He should've been able to protect her. It would be a guilt that will eat him alive if he lets it.
