The Awakeing is just the beginning

The next morning they were loading up the SUV's, Nicole and Josh were doubling checking everything before they left. They had decided to leave Ace behind to wait for the computer to finish with Uncle's computer search. Some things had come back without any REAL findings.

They were just hitting the highway when Geists phone rang. "Yes."

"Alpha you will need to come back." Ace was on the other end of the phone.

"Why?"

"Because Katrina needs to wake up Edward. She is the key to all of this and MaryBeth cannot be freed without him." Ace couldn't believe what he had just found in Uncles computer. It was the blueprint for everything.

"What?"

"Sir?"

"Nevermind, we are on our way back." Alpha Geist pulled his truck over and everyone followed suit. He mindlinked them to let them know they were going back but didn't tell them why mostly because he wasn't sure what he needed to tell them.

They pulled back into the driveway and everyone got out. The morning cool still danced in the air but you could still feel the humidity. Nicole and Josh got out and everyone followed suit finding themselves standing in the same conference room with Ace looking like he saw a ghost.

He had a file and her father's ring on the table and invited Nicole to sit down. He glanced over at Alpha who gave him an approving nod.

Nicole noticed his hands were sort of shaking and his breathing changed as she sat down. She really had no idea who she was.

"First I'd like to just ask about your Uncle. Did he ever say ANYTHING at all about where he came from?"

Nicole got this sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach and said "No."

"Not even in passing, as a joke anything about stars?" Ace wanted to be sure.

"N...wait. When he died and I went home to go through stuff the TV was sleeping. Which was wierd enough because he never really watched TV. But when I went to move the remote the TV turned on to Star Trek. I thought it was wierd because he never like TV shows like that either." She thought for a moment "So I guess he said something about Star Trek as his last act." It was far fetched but it was different to her.

"Nothing is far fetched." Ace was reading her thoughts. "He was from the stars. He was a personal warrior guard from the Moon Goddess herself. He was part of an elite few that were hand chosen by the Moon Goddess." He handed her some reports he had made directly to the Moon Goddess.

Nicole looked over the file seeing her birth name a few times and then noticed that the file name was Nicky Bicky. She handed to Josh and Ace went on.

"Inside this file we found the blueprint of what happens now. Nothing could happen until you found your mate and you were only going to find if HE found you. So that had to happen first. Then if you look here Uncle was to leave a trail of "Items" that would unlock a different part of you and your Lycan."

Alpha Giest chimed in "Lycans have far too much power to be realized all at once. It might have killed you to do any of this out of order."

"That is true. Now you are to this part." Ace flipped the pages and then just let her read it.

"What?" She felt anxiety rise in her stomach "How? I don't know enough to get this done."

"No but Nakita does." Ace pointed out a certain section "He must be woken up and come with you. MaryBeth is powerless without him. He is the only one that can reconnect her to her Lycan."

Nicole sat back as if the wind was just knocked out of her. Josh stood behind her and started to rub her shoulders. "You can do this Babe."

He said supportively. "You already did it for me once."

"Speaking of you Josh, you are also a Moon Goddess warrior you just didn't know it. You and Mark are. That is why you are her mate and that is why you will be able to see all the things she sees when the average wolf cannot. It's why she will die if you die because you were created to be her protector and you will do that until your dying breath. It's what you were born to do." Ace looked over at Mark "You are not quite so close but you are her protector."

Nicole read the papers and she felt the calm hand and heard the calm voice of Sabrina. "Child, you can do this, you have all the necessary skills just let her help you. That is what she wants to do most of all."

"I will try or I mean WE will try." Nicole stood up and pulled her shoulders back and held her head up high and walked out of there like she knew what she was doing and how she was going to get it done, even when really she had no clue.

Edward

Edward had been lying there in a coma for 21 years. He never responded to any type of sitmulation and when they "pulled the plug" he never died. The got him a bed that stood him up several times a day and his father insisted he was out of bed at least twice per day. His body only wasted away to almost nothing. His hair was still black as midnight with a new moon.

Nicole stood over him studying his face, taking in every single detail. The small mole over his right temple, his long black hair that flowed down over his shoulders was recently washed and brushed. His lips were full and slightly parted as he took a shallow breath in and let it out.

Nicole felt Nakita come to the surface as she touched his face and brought her face very close to his breathing his breath. She could hear his heart beat and feel the coolness from his boby as she did so.

She let his breath settle in her lungs as she held her breath and expelled it as she brought her wrist up to her mouth tearing her sking at her veins and then she put her wrist over his mouth and let her blood drip into it. It slowly made a pool in his mouth and when she was done she simply licked it closed and healed as if it never happened.

She ran her fingers through his hair and hummed to him as time ticked away. Josh and everybody had left the room to make sure there was peace and quiet.

After several minuets she saw the color start to come back to his cheeks that had been pale white. His lips turned pink instead of blue. His breathing got deeper. She just kept humming to him and stroking his hair singing a few words in Russian as she did so.

His fingers started to twitch with life as her blood made its way through his body. With flesh and muscle returning to his hands the skeletal fingers returned to normal. She watched as her blood made its way brining back muscle and youth along the way. He no longer looked like a skeleton laying there as his eyes flittered open for the first time in 21 years and he took in a deep breath as he completed his awakeing.

He saw her looking over him and humming to him as she stroked his hair and she looked so much like MaryBeth but somehow he knew she wasn't. He studied her face for a long time with his bright blue eyes and didn't say anything.

Nakita smiled back at him "Father" she said and touched his face gently with her hands and kissed his cheek. She faded away as Nicole cameback. Her eyes turned to the golden brown of Nicole and tears swelled up in them. "Daddy!" She cried and put her head on his chest with tears of joy streaming out. She felt his arms come around her and they were warm and comforting.

"Katrina my kitty." His voice was gruff and deep as his vocal cords were not used to moving.

He hugged her for a long time and then Josh and everyone came back in and Nicole sat up. Giving them a big smile. "We did it."

Edward rolled over and sat up facing the door everyone walked in. He looked at his father and saw tears running down his face. His body felt stiff as he moved like moving in a thick mud but it didn't hurt.

"Son." Was all Giest could say as he walked up to him and picked him up into a big bear hug. Edward hugged him back. He had watched as his Dad fought for him, tried everything he could to bring him back. Edward hugged him back and they were like that for a few minuets. Sabrina touched her dad's shoulder and he let Edward go and he stood looking at Sabrina for a moment. She had aged a bit but not terrible he thought.

"Brother. I have missed you." She was about foot shorter than him and she hugged him with her head landing square in his chest. He wrapped his arms around her as well thankful for some stability. He was feeling a little dizzy. She heard his stomach growl loudly and giggled as she pulled away. "I think someone is hungry."

"Whatever you want son I will have them make it." Giest was still reeling from what he was looking at; his son standing right before him. He had dreamed about this moment, wished for this moment and he felt like he was watching it in third person almost.

"Where is MaryBeth?" He had to sit down, he was really starting to feel dizzy.

"We are going to get her." Nicole said suddenly realizing that they had a lot to talk about.

"Go get her? Where is sh...." His words fell away as he remembered what had happened last time they were together. He looked over at Katrina and realized he had been separated from her for years. She was maybe a year old when they were attacked. "Ohhhhh, I remember." He was quiet for a moment and then there was a knock on the door.

Alpha Giest had ordered him his favorite sandwhich, it was fast and easy to eat. The omega that delievered it was looking around her Alpha and saw Edward standing thiere. She gave a little squeal and then looked back at her Alpha. "You can tell everyone he's back." He said with a great big smile on his face. She scurried off excited to tell everyone.
