“You were right,” I sigh. “She did rip us a new one.”
“I did not expect this,” Harvey looks at me in disbelief. “I know about her past, but I never realized how much it damaged her. And how damaged she still is, I thought she was doing better.”
“She is better, Harvey,” I stand up and look down at him. “But it’s going to take more than a couple of months for her to be herself.”
“I wish I could help her,” Harvey sighs as he stares at his hands. “I know she said I already helped, but I want to do more.”
“We can do more,” I smile. “No more talking about love and what could’ve been between you two and I will suck up my jealousy. She needs us both.”
“Easy for you to say,” Harvey says sadly. “You’re the one sleeping next to her. I’m the one who’s only left with memories.”
