Aria Evan is still sleeping when I wake up. It is barely sunrise, but after my afternoon nap and a full night’s sleep, I am rested. I pull a gown over my pyjamas when I notice the rose again. I pick it up and breathe the smell deeply. I do love roses; I smile as I walk to the balcony and open the doors. The lake is cool and serene stretched out in front of me and I sigh happily. Las Vegas is a breathtaking city, but it is still a city and cannot compare with the peace and quiet that I am indulging in now. I toy with the rose between my fingers as I watch the sky turn lighter as the sun rises. A movement catches my eye and for a moment fear grips my heart until I remind myself that vampires do not attack at sunrise. Absentmindedly I watch the figure running closer to the packhouse. Mayb
