CHAPTER 2-AURORA'S POV

After getting ready about half an hour before my first class, I decided to take my morning coffee at a local cafe along with Nikki who is my new friend and my roommate , she is also a med student and both her parents are doctors. We both got along quite well, we share chemistry that i really like , plus she has killer sense of humor and is super entertaining. We also share same opinions which all add to the plus side. Its been only a day since we know each other but its like we have been friends from years.

She ordered her black coffee and I ordered my cappuccino . Helding our coffees in our hands we walked to our first class of the day.

First day went quite smoothly and with Nikki by my side i thought i would get bored but instead i enjoyed my day. She kept me entertained between our breaks and at lunch. As we reached our room by afternoon, i already had to rush because my practice was due in half an hour , so without wasting time, i quickly showered and changed into my jersey and shorts, i tied my hair into my signature ponytail and left the room with a quick glance in the mirror. Wait did i left that bit of information out, oops my bad, I play college basketball and am part of the girls basketball team. I play sports along with my studies, so am not typically a nerd, and before you go all judgy judgy on me, wondering why the hell is she playing when she is in "med school" and have such a hectic schedule and tough studies, lemme tell you that basketball is my forever love and i can't part with it like ever . I played basketball in high school too and still kept my grades high and if i can get into this top university while handling both, i know i can handle college too and let me clear myself its not the arrogance talking its confidence.

Basketball was never gonna be my profession, no. But i still want to play at college while the golden days last before i have to deal with the real world, for now it feels like a safe cocoon to me and am very happy in it.

Our practice stadium is unlike others cuz it have four different courts in it where both male and female team practice and it is quite huge, there are only few spectators seat cuz players don't like people disturbing them while practicing . The main court where all the matches and tournaments happen is adjacent to this stadium , that one is the biggest stadium i have ever seen in my whole life, it can even hold thousands of people at once and when the stadium is full and whole audience is on their feet chearing , its a surreal moment. According to me having different courts for practice and tournament is the best thing cuz its like having the best of two things which i like honestly. Before any tournament the team gets to practice there to get ready for the final match.

As i reached the practice court, our coach Mrs Williams told us to stand in position.

" I want all of you to give not only your best but beyond it, I won't accept any tardiness , mistake , fights and excuses. I want all of you to be a team cuz you are my team amd i won't tolerate any nonsense, am i clear?" Coach asked. We all replied in unison-"yes coach" and we were dismissed. For next two hours she made us run drills till we couldn't feel our legs but that's the part I like - the high of adrenaline. We ended our practice by couple of fitness drills and three pointer shots.

My all teammates seemed cool and i really liked practicing with them , they literally have got some good talent and i can't wait to improve my game while playing with them. Among them i liked Ari the most, that girl is something else with 5'4 height and don't let the height fool you and she is not the one to be underestimated cuz she is quite a savage player on court which you can't judge based on the brighest green eyes and sweet face she have . So when they say not to judge a book by its cover do listen to them.

Me and Ari were just packing our stuff while talking about our college experience so far and i got to know she is business major but she planned on playing basketball on professional level and it was her first year in college too. She was saying something about her classes when something across the second court caught my eyes. Well it was not something, rather it was someone with dark brown hair,baby blue eyes, mesmerising smile and the most handsome face i have seen so far, a body with so much perfection - all toned and muscled, definitely a body worth killing for. He was looking directly at me and for exact three seconds we made eye contact which suddenly made me cover in goosebumps and left me with a tingly sensation. Unable to process the weird and sensual feeling, i quickly diverted my eyes while keeping my face neutral so that he won't see that i was affected with a single eye contact. Calmly i packed my things and left with Ari feeling a pair of eyes on my back.

After reaching home, closing my room's door behind me i stood there silently wondering what the heck just happened.
