Callum's voice boomed like a great bell, his confession echoing off every wall of the villa until the whole place seemed to hum with it. Yet not a single soul came out to see what the commotion was about. He stared at Maren, his heart hammering so violently it felt like it might burst through his ribs. Maren simply lowered her gaze to the door handle, stood there in silence for a few heartbeats, then pushed the door open and stepped inside without a word.
