Isabelle’s POV The quiet was maddening. Everyone in the house was fast asleep, wrapped in their own dreams and unbothered by the kind of thoughts that were currently tying me up in knots. I wasn’t that lucky. I lay on my back, staring up at the ceiling like it had answers it would whisper if I watched it long enough. But all it offered was stillness.
