Sophia couldn't concentrate for the rest of the day. Her mind kept replaying that forbidden moment in the file room-Ethan's touch, his lips claiming hers, the way he made her body feel completely out of control.
She knew this was dangerous. Reckless. But she couldn't stop.
And neither could he.
By the time the office emptied that evening, Sophia was at her desk, pretending to work but really just trying to catch her breath.
Everyone had left-everyone except Ethan.
She could feel his presence before she saw
The soft click of his office door. The low, measured footsteps approaching her.
And then, he was there.
Leaning against the of her desk, sleeves rolled up,his eyes darkest than she'd ever seen them
No words.
just tension
A slow, deliberate tension that thickened with every passing second.
Sophia swallowed hard. "Ethan, we can't-"
"I've tried to stay away." His voice was husky, raw. "But you've been driving me insane all day."
Her pulse spiked as he leaned closer, his scent overwhelming her senses.
"You think I didn't notice the way you looked at me during that meeting? How your lips parted when I got too close? You're not as good at hiding it as you think, Sophia."
Her breath hitched.
He was right.
She had looked. She had wanted.
And the truth was-she didn't want to stop.
Ethan's hand grazed her jaw, tilting her face up to his.
"Tell me you don't want this," he whispered, lips so closed they were almost touching.
She couldn't.
Instead, her body answered for her, leaning into him as her lips met his in a kiss that was pure fire.
This time, there was no hesitation. No restraint.
Ethan's hands tangled in her hair, his body pressing her back against the desk as the kiss deepened. Tongues collided, breaths mingled, the heat between them becoming unbearable.
Her blouse slipped open under his touch, his fingers the bare skin beneath.
"God, Sophia..." he groaned against her neck, his lips trailing lower, igniting every nerve ending in her body.
She gasped, arching into him, completely lost in the sensation.
Until-
The sound of keys jingling near the entrance shattered the moment.
They broke apart, breathless, eyes wide.
Sophia frantically buttoned her blouse while Ethan adjusted his shirt, both of them struggling to regain composure.
The cleaning staff had arrived.
They exchanged a heated glance-still burning, still unfinished.
"This isn't over," Ethan whispered, his voice rough with promise.
And as he walked away, leaving her trembling and breathless...
She knew he was right.
It was only just beginning.
