She spoke huskily “No. No.” But Kathie’s hand had relinquished hers in that moment and it was Dare speaking coolly over Griselda’s shoulder. “The party’s going to break up, early as it is. Major Pembrooke sails from Avalon tonight.” She might have nightmared the momentary incident.
