Ethan's eyes locked onto mine, his expression unreadable. I could sense the tension building between us.
"I think you should come with me," he said, his voice firm but controlled.
I knew I had to think fast. I couldn't let him take me to Julian Blackwood or anyone else who might suspect me. I needed to come up with a convincing story, and fast.
"I think there's been a misunderstanding," I said, trying to sound calm. "I'm new here, and I'm still getting familiar with the building. I didn't mean to intrude on restricted areas."
Ethan's expression didn't change, but I could see a flicker of doubt in his eyes. "Follow me," he said, his voice still firm.
I hesitated for a moment, wondering what would happen next. Would he take me to Julian Blackwood, or would he try to interrogate me himself? I decided to follow him, trying to play it cool.
As we walked through the corridors, I noticed the way Ethan moved with confidence and authority. He was clearly a man who knew his way around the building, and possibly the organization.
We stopped in front of a door, and Ethan swiped his ID card to unlock it. "This is the marketing department," he said, his voice still neutral. "You can go back to work now."
I nodded, feeling a mix of relief and confusion. Had I just dodged a bullet, or was this some kind of trap?
As I turned to leave, I caught a glimpse of something on Ethan's ID card. A small inscription read: "Level 3 Clearance."
My mind racing, I realized that Ethan might be more involved in the organization's illicit activities than I initially thought.
What do you think Will happens next? Will Ava try to gather more information about Ethan's role in the organization, or Will she focus on completing her mission?
