Carter Thompson. Seiko told me bringing another girl would not do us any good and with Tara goo-goo eyeing the f**k outta a nigga and Keeylah glaring us down. I would never thought Keeylah was never this jealous. I mean... we arent even dating. If this is how she gon' act. Ion know if this whole relationship would work out in the first place. It's cute in a way though. "So. Tara, how long have you and Carter known each other ?" Keeylah asked, while sipping her apple cider sweet tea. Tara batted her eyelashes and then looked at me. "Since we were little babies." She smirked at me. Bad Idea, I thought. Keeylah looked pissed off. "Ayee Carter, me and Des bouta cop another table so y'all can have more... space." Seiko smiled devilishly in my direction and got up. Dez blushed a bit and followed Seiko. I glared at his retreating back for leaving me in this dilemma. Tara bit off a piece of her scone and smiled. Keeylah glared at her and set her apple cider sweet tea. I sat there, nervous as hell. This lunch could go two ways. One way where Keeylah becomes the bigger person or the other way, s**t goes down. Tara turns her attention to me. "Hey Carter, I got accepted into NYU. My mom bought me a car to celebrate." She says proudly. Keeylah rolls her eye and picks her sweet tea and mumbles. "You're cool. " I sideeyed her and turn my attention to Tara. "Congrats, T." "I know, maybe we could go for dinner tonight." She puts her small hand on mine. s**t. I refused to look over at Keeylah. I heard the chair move. I looked at Keeylah. She didn't look to happy. "I'm going to the ladies room." And with that, I watched her retreating back. I sighed and looked at Tara. "Now that she's gone.." She leaned in and I retreated. "Tara, we can't do this-" "It's because of that b***h, right? She doesn't have to get in the way of this." She scoffed. "Well that b***h is the girl I like for your information." I snapped. Tara looked shocked. "What does she have that I don't?" "A personality. She's bubbly and chill. You are clingy and we are suppose to be friends anyways." I got up from my chair and put a $20 on the table. "Whe- where you going?" She stuttered. "To look for the only girl I want at the moment." I said confidently. I turned around and saw I didn't have to look far. Keeylah stood there blushing and smiling. I smiled and walked up to her. "You heard all of that?" I asked. She nodded. "Yeah." It was quiet for a moment and then I leaned in, her soft lips crashed onto mine and our tongues were at war. This had to be the best kiss I have had in a while. Keeylah Mason When our lips parted, I looked at my new boyfriend and smiled goofily. "So I guess we are a thing, now?" He interjected. "If you handle being with a black girl." I smirked. "Please baby girl, I'll handle that fat ass any day." He said cockily. "Whatever. Just know, we in this for the long run." I replied. He put his hand in mine. "Me and you, baby." He smiled. I leaned in for a kiss and this time it wasn't as slow and sweet. It was rough and satisfying. "No public display of affection! There's children!" A mom yelled, causing me and Carter to snap out of our little world. I blushed in embarrassment and he looked at me, goofy. "Hey, why don't we get out of here?" "....and leave Dez and Seiko?" I asked. "They'll understand." He shrugged. We started walking towards the exit. "Ok..." I furrowed my eyebrows. We walked hand and hand out of Sandy's cafe and to his car. "Wait.. How will Seiko get home?" I questioned. "A bus." Devin smirked. I rolled my eyes playfully. What have I gotten myself into?? ________________________
