Chapter 9:Meadow

I was chilling with my brothers Faesy, Fillan, and Alexander in my room when I received a text.

“Come out.” My bossy bestie wrote, and I smiled. Finally, the day had come. It was 6 pm, and I knew it was already time.

“Ouch,” I screamed while holding my stomach. My brothers looked at me, concerned.

“What is wrong?” Fillan asked.

“My stomach hurts,”

“I will go and get painkillers for you.” Alex offered, and I shook my head.

“I have pills in my room. Maybe if I get some rest, I will feel better,” I said, hoping they would leave.

“What if it is something serious?” Faesy asked, and I barely managed to tone down my irritation because they were asking so many questions.

“It is period pains.” I blurted out, then looked away, feeling shy.

“Ooh, uhm, we should go and let you get some rest then,” Alex said, and then they basically ran out of my room. I was left laughing alone. I wondered why it was so hard to talk about periods with boys and why they found it uncomfortable, but oh well, it did the trick, and I did not have the time to dwell on that because I had to get ready quickly before my bestie got annoyed. I was done bathing in five minutes, and all I had to do was get dressed. I went to my closet and then looked around. I had only royal and decent clothes on this side, but I had a secret closet that only I knew about, and its entrance was right here. I went to the long mirror that was situated between my wardrobes, stood in front of it, and winked. My mirror was enchanted, and it only gave access to me and no one else. The mirror started moving to the side. I walked down the stairs and into the dining room. I had all my computers and gaming stuff in here. I quickly made my way to my closet and picked out a black and short, sexy dress. It was very short, and it exposed my back. It was not fit for a princess, and if I were ever caught wearing these kinds of clothes, I would be done for, but I liked them. I put it on and then put on long, black boot heels. I tied my hair into a ponytail so that my shoulders and collarbone could be exposed. After I checked myself out, I left my secret hideout. When I got to my room, I put on a long brown coat and then left through the window. I escaped through the back of the castle and into the forest. After walking for about five minutes, I found Will waiting for me on the side of the road. I got into the car, and he drove away.

“You certainly took your time, princess.” He said while keeping his eyes on the road.

“I am not a princess on this day, so do not call me that,” I said while putting on my seatbelt, and that was because I did not trust Will’s driving, and I was not kidding.

“Yeah, and that is all thanks to me.” He smirked while looking at me.

“Eyes on the road, young man. I still want to live, and yes, I get to have this freedom thanks to you, and I am grateful for that.”

“How will you thank me for being an awesome friend who brings you happiness?” He asked, and I rolled my eyes.

“I will show you when we arrive there,” I said, and he nodded.

“Cannot wait.” When we arrived there, it was empty; it was like there was no life, but that was not true. It was an illusion. We were in the forest, and on the other side of the forest, there was a gate made up of trees. Will drove to the gate, and then a fairy appeared. To enter the place, we had to answer different riddles every time. There was one riddle for everyone who attended on that day, but when we came back the following week, there would be a different riddle. We had three chances to answer the riddle, and if we failed, we would be denied access. Fortunately for us, I was excellent at riddles.

“I am short, but then I grow long, water mistakenly breaks me, but I can also be cut intentionally. What am I?” The cute, small fairy gave us the riddle, and Will looked at me. I kept thinking about it in my mind. ‘What does water break and by mistake?’

“Ice cream,” Will said, and I rolled my eyes. Is he dumb?

“Please keep quiet. It is not your cup of tea,” I said, and he just shrugged.

“You have two more tries remaining.” The fairy said.

“It is a nail,” I replied after a minute, and then the trees parted, making a way for us.

“Well done,” Will said and then drove inside, where there were many cars parked in different spots. Many people were here today, so it was going to be a lot of fun. Will parked the car, and before he could get out, I climbed on top of him and pressed my lips to his. He took control and let our mouths dance together. His hands wandered all over me, but he could not get access because I was wearing a coat. I broke the kiss and took off my coat before getting out of the car.

“That was my thank you,” I said, and he smiled. Will was very handsome. He was not royalty, but he was from a noble family, and our families were friends for years, and they still are, so Will and I grew up together. A few years back, we accidentally kissed, but we did not stop. We gave each other access to our lips but nothing more.

“You look sexy, by the way.” He complimented me.

“Thank you,” I said, and then saw him looking at me all over before whistling.

“Stop staring, and let us go." We walked for a good ten minutes before we heard music and saw people. When we arrived, there were people all over the place, and we greeted all we could. Some people were dancing, others were making out, and there were a bunch of them fighting with powers, and those were my kind of people. I left Will with his group of friends and went to the bar. I ordered a cocktail, but it was not really one. It was just a blue portion that made the fae tipsy.

“How do you manage to leave home, princess?” Welma asked, sitting beside me.

“Through the window, obviously,” I told her.

“You are one rebellious and sexy princess. Those dresses you wear don’t do you justice. Look how beautiful and sexy your body is. You are a goddess.” She said while brushing my arm.

“Are you courting me right now, Welma?” I asked her.

“What if I am?” She asked instead of replying.

“You are not my cup of tea, Angel. Of course, you are hot and beautiful, but you are for everyone, and if anything happens between us, the whole kingdom will know about it, so sorry, but I cannot risk any of that happening.” I smiled at her, and she left me sitting at the bar. The barman, Jared, delivered my cocktail, and I drank it while dancing to the music. While dancing, someone held my waist, and when I looked back at them, it was Will. I put my head on his shoulder, and we danced to the music.

“Let us go and join the challenges.” He said, and I smiled. I took his hand and walked over to the group of people who were fighting with their powers. I signed the challenger’s sheet, and I was going to challenge the winner. When the winner was declared, I took my place and got ready to steal the title. We both threw our hands in the air, and our magic collided in the middle, and a battle to overcome the other ensued. People were cheering, but I put all my focus on the battle. I was not going to lose to a nobody. When I started getting tired, I knew that I had to end it right there and then, so I put all my powers in one hand to form a shield and, with my other hand, I formed a small tornado behind me and threw it at my opponent. It pushed him away, and he fell with a scream.

“And we have a new winner. The winner is Meadow.” The host announced, and everybody cheered and clapped while I made my way to my opponent. I helped him up.

“Better luck next time,” I whispered.

“There will not be a next time.” He said before walking away.

“What a sore loser.” I scoffed and then made my way to Will. We went to the bar to get some drinks, and we drank the night away. It was 12 am, when we decided to leave the party. I had so much fun, and I wished that I could party like that every day, but the party was only held once a week. I felt so free in that place, and maybe that is why it was called Free-Dom Party. Will dropped me off.

“I have something to tell you, so I will call you tomorrow,” I told Will.

“Okay, good night.” He drove away, and I made my way to the castle. I climbed through my window using the pipes. When I entered my room, I found pillows under my duvet to make it seem like I was sleeping. I wonder who could have done that. I shook my head and then went to take a shower. I wore my panda pajamas and hid the clothes I was wearing in my secret room. When I got into bed, I fell asleep immediately.
