Chapter 5:Michael

916 Words
When I woke up, I was in my bed, utterly confused. I couldn’t understand what had happened or how I got back home. I quickly got out of bed and looked at myself in the mirror—nothing seemed out of place. So, what was happening to me? While I was still trying to figure it out, my parents and four siblings entered my room. My mom ran to me, holding me in her arms and crying. “I’m so glad you are okay. I was so scared. You have been sleeping for a whole week now, and you scared us.” Ooh, what did she mean by a week? “Why was I sleeping for so long? What happened?” I asked her. “We should be asking you that. When it became dark, and you had still not come back home, we went to look for you, but we only found your car on the side of the road. We entered the forest to look further, and we found you unconscious and naked, so please tell us what happened?” I couldn’t tell them the truth. They would think I was going insane. I had seen an imaginary person or a ghost because even though I didn’t see that girl’s face, I knew that she was too surreal to be real. “I don’t remember. I drove Mae to her house, and when I was coming back, my vision became blurred, so I stopped the car and took a walk in the forest. After that, I had no idea what happened.” I lied, I hoped that they believed me, but I couldn’t find out because my friends came barreling into my room. They came over to where we were standing in front of the mirror. “Are you okay? You scared us.” Cory said. “I’m okay. I didn’t mean to make you guys worried.” I told them. “We were so worried, Bruh. Next time when you scare us like that, I’m going to kick your handsome self.” Melissa said, and we laughed. “You are capable, so I believe you,” I said teasingly, and she glared at me. Mae ran over to me and hugged me. She started crying, and I whispered comforting words while rubbing her back. “We are glad you are okay, so we will leave you guys alone now,” Mercy said, and then everyone left, leaving me and Mae alone. I led Mae to the bed, and she looked at me with tears running down her cheeks. “Please stop crying. I am okay now.” I told her while wiping her cheeks. “I was just so worried, and whenever I came over to check up on you and found you still unconscious, my heart broke a little each time, and I felt guilty.” I could see it; she couldn’t look me straight in the eyes, and she was wringing her hands a lot. “Why would you do that to yourself? Why beat yourself up for something that was out of your control?” I asked her. It didn’t feel nice seeing her like this. “It’s my fault because if you didn’t drive me home, then you wouldn’t have been hurt.” She said, and I looked at her. “Stop blaming yourself, I don’t like it. Now, please promise me that you will never blame yourself because it’s not your fault.” I told her sternly, and she nodded. “Say it,” I demanded. “I promise.” She said, and I smiled. “That’s my good girl, now kiss me,” I told her while grabbing her face and kissing the heck out of her. The kiss became heated, and we made out. I wanted more, but when I asked, she said, “I don’t feel like doing that right now, Michael.” I rubbed my hand over my face and sighed in frustration. I guess I wanted something to help me forget the nightmare I had lived through. “Why, what’s wrong? It has been so long since we have done it.” I said. “I know that, but I just don’t feel like it, so just let it go.” She said, getting out of bed, and I got out of bed and went to take a shower. I took a cold shower because it seemed like I was being punished, and when I was done, I found Mae already dressed and playing on her phone. “Are you leaving now?” I asked her, and she turned to look at me. Her eyes roamed all over my body, and I smirked. I was only wearing a towel, so everything else was on full display. I had a great body, if I may say so myself. I had biceps, a six-pack, and wide shoulders. Not that I was being, narcissistic, but I was a full package. “Yes, it’s already late, and the guys are waiting for me, so I’m just going to dash.” “I will walk you out,” I told her and gave her a peck on the lips. When we arrived downstairs, my friends were already waiting by the door. I thanked them for coming over, and I said my goodbyes. It was at times like these that I realised how blessed I was to have my friends because they were there for me no matter what.
